I have several wax boxes, but I have to charge $35 per box to make ANY money on it.

For that show, the crowd wasn't awful. However sales were not good. I may have covered my hotel room and table fees, but that is it.
Means I am still in the hole because of gas, food and cost of goods. Forget my time. %*^(^%$$*^)

I hate I didn’t buy the boxes of 89 Donruss a dealer had for $25 each last weekend. He had some junk wax boxes for under market but I was in pokemon zone. I would love to find enough various junk wax to do a junk wax Wednesday every week in 2026 on TikTok.

How has it been for you buying? When I was doing scout patch shows, often the worst selling shows for me were the best buying shows. I’d end up losing money on the weekend but making 25x in the weeks that followed selling on eBay.

However I did buy 4-2025 Topps Holiday baseball Megas for $25 each. I couldn't afford it, but I did it anyways. I agree with the notion that spending your way to profits can work if you get the right stuff. It seems like I have several shows per year that are like that.

I pack out my 89 Donruss at $1.50 each and sell them like crazy. I paid more than that for the boxes I got in Nashville.

My mom is taking my nanny back to Bedford this weekend. I will have to go grocery shopping by myself.

Relaxing for a few minutes before I head back to the show. Already walked over for breakfast. Seemed like it was around 50 out.

It all depends on the change. I'm all for the DH in the American League, getting rid of the shift, pitch clock, and the ABS system. I'm against the ghost runner in extra innings, larger bases, pitcher can only throw over twice or they have to get them out the 3rd time, and the 3 batter rule for pitchers.

So it was nice that I wasted 8 hours of vacation for nothing yesterday as our heating company never bothered to show up between 8 - 12, much less at all.
After about 4 phone calls back to them, they finally called at 5PM saying they wouldn't be able to make it out here today. I'm glad I pay at that money for a preferred customer maintenance contract. ![]() It was freezing downstairs this morning. Now, they are gong to come sometime after 4PM today as I had to make it later in the day since I have an eye doctor appointment in Fredericksburg in the early afternoon. |

And speaking of possibly wasting vacation hours, my wife told me that her contract received an e-mail from our boss and the prime contractor stating that since the Federal government is closed Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas, they are unable to work because no Government Lead will be in the office. I checked my corporate e-mail and there's nothing in there, but I'm sure we have the same thing in my work e-mail since we are bleeding money on the contract.
So, that's another 8 hours wasted leave for Wednesday and however many hours I haven't been able to make up time for Friday when I was going to be off anyway and have been working an extra hour a day for.But it was OK that we worked Inauguration Day and Carter's Funeral when the government was shutdown and no government leads were there.

A few weeks ago, our COO had sample sports cards that had been produced laying on a conference table. It looked like Panini and Topps. I didn’t get a chance to get a better look before he came in and gathered everything up.
