According to the initial Topps press release, the Background Variations (SP) are unnumbered and limited to 50.

From what I've seen on the product pages, the print runs for parallels are as follows.

Foil - Serial Numbered /10
Background Variation/Player Silhouette SP - Print Run /50
Chrome Refractor - Print Run based on Base Card Print Run (speculation)

Welp either I just got insanely INSANELY lucky or the chrome refractor is not based on print run. I got 40 Tyrese Maxeys delivered today (I ordered 60 and still am waiting on the last twenty). In those 40 cards, THREE were chrome refs. Also have gotten my 60 Dirks with no parallels ... so ...

Did the Chrome Refractors take the place of the base card (i.e. 37 base cards and 3 parallels)? I’m surprised Topps isn’t obligated to reveal hit odds for a card released without a serial number or print run specified. Here’s hoping you just got lucky!

Yes, they did!

I didn't get any chromes of Dirk and ordered more than Tyrese. I think this was just plain luck.

One of the 20 packs had TWO chrome cards in it. Which indicates it truly is random by card and not by line item.

The pure randomness is great. Gives everyone who orders through Topps a legitimate shot at a parallel.

I don't know how modern fans feel about Durant. I think featuring him with the Rockets is a mistake, but I don't know how many more seasons he'll play, so it may have been awhile until he could be featured with OKC upon his retirement.

I expect his PR to be higher than Brunson and Maxey, but I'm not sure he'll eclipse any of the Hall of Famers featured. Maybe in the 5,100-5,300 range.

As for Wilkins, I do expect him to have the lowest PR to date, but still surpass 4,000.

I feel that KD going to GS tainted his image for some. Others look at the number of teams he played in last few years. I agree that the timing makes sense to get his card out with the limited release window. Dominique had a great career but postseason history probably hurts him.

I definitely dislike all of the team hopping, and that doesn't just apply to KD.

Wilkins was unfortunate to play in an era dominated by the 80s Celtics and Lakers, and Jordan. He's not the only one that never won a title due to those three, so I'm curious how his lack of postseason accolades contributes to his print run.

I don't want to be mean but this is the first player I didn't know (I don't watch a ton of basketball).

I buy based on the player as I’m sure many do…the Brown feels like the lowest PR of a current player
