If Ben is known for stellar offensive performance, he’s also known for big time playoff bombs. One and done right around the corner.

Is the Lions Super Bowl window shut? I don't believe so but there is that talk.

Longer answer: noooooooooooo. They need to reallocate their spending priorities toward rebuilding the lines, better luck with players staying healthy, and a new OC. That's not insignificant, but also no reason to write them off (as so many haters are desperately trying to do).

Yes unfortunately I believe it is. 2023 was their best chance. Should have won it all. They had 49ers dead to rights and they had already defeated the chiefs that season. And chiefs were already on a downward trajectory. Now they will likely need to replace 2 starting safeties and very good ones at that. They will likely need at least 2 new offensive lineman. Goff has shown he is just average at QB when he isn't protected very well. They need to hit on a good OC. They will likely be moving on from Knuckles (Montgomery). They have no pass rush to speak of so they need to find an answer opposite of Hutchinson. There are just way to many holes to fill. The dream team they had assembled is aging and injured. They will need a minor rebuild essentially.

I saw this funny post about Jordan Love's cheap X-mas gift to his O-line
"Cam Ward is on a rookie deal and got each of his OL numbered chains, airline vouchers, LV bags and the Nintendo Switch 2. Meanwhile, Jordan Love got paid $220M and bought each of his OL Nike Dunks… Jordan Love is now recovering from a concussion." |

What were you saying back then? I was being "delusional" by saying Ben Johnson was the driving force behind the Lions? And that he would do what he did there, here. And the Lions would fall apart without him. Nothing was hot. Bears just landed a franchise changing HC. Grabbed the best Guard in the game in Joe Thuney. Took the best TE in the draft in Loveland. Bears were "Good" getting "Better" at the time. And now, Bears are "Best" Exactly what I said would happen just did. Caleb is a star. Bears Kings of the North. Lions back to trash. I hope you enjoy that cellar you were so very excited to crawl out from for just 2 years LOL. 2 years out of the past 35! Bears, top 5 in nearly every metric for an offense. No one can come close to the Bear D for takeaways. All in year 1 of the Johnson Regime. Now that he is free of that crying loser Campbell. The sky is the limit. Don't hate! Just appreciate that you are witnessing greatness!

The Lions did what they had to do to chase a Super Bowl. But now they are cash strapped, saddled with some massive contracts. And rudderless when it comes to coaching. They are still using Ben Johnson's playbook. That has been widely covered. Like Nagy using Andy Reid's when he got to Chicago. Or Callahan using Gruden's when he left for the Bucs. Always with short term success until the league sniffs that out. Which is why the Lions started out strong still. But the inevitable happened. |

A lot of these guys can use someone else's systems, but it's one thing to know the playbook, and another to execute it. Also, Ben has a knack for calling the right plays at the right time and using other plays to set up calls later in the game. Bummer of a game last night, but Bears showed they can hang with anyone. Caleb is gonna drive us down the field and at least give us an opportunity. No one bats 1.000.

They are using mostly what was in place for Eberflus, and still winning. Once they get "their" guys on the squad. And everyone has a whole year under their belts in these new systems. The skys the limit. And yeah, last they lost last night. But like you said, it proves the Bears can go toe to toe with anyone in the league. The below was posted at the end of the game. Like two heavyweight boxers going the distance.

Hopefully Poles is scouting some guys who can either get after the QB or stop the run.

We had Booker out for a big chunk of the season. Dayo and Shemar Turner lost for the year right away with torn ACLs. So we have no one giving Sweat and Book a rest. We just don't know what we have in our D, as so many guys have been hurt all year. Nearly every starter on D went down. With most of those injuries taking months to come back from. Jaylon was out forever. We had practice squad guys starting at both LB positions when Edmunds and Edwards went out for weeks. The fact we got this far, with everyone broken, is a testament to our depth and coaching. |

Front-runner Grid back to strut and hurl poo while blithely failing to mention the real reason why he ran and hid earlier this year. It's there for all with eyes to see. No one made it up - you told the story yourself. And for the record I was not the person casting aspersions on your family.

I told a personal story about how I have know the Ditka's for years. And I mentioned he was mean and kinda racist. And people love him, because he is crazy. And you somehow spun that into me being a racist or something. Thats the only thing I can think of. I even sent you a PM on that, saying trying to call me a racist is beneath even you. Is that why you think I was hiding? Weak. Like I said I let me team back up my boasting. You should be happy the star of your thread is back. Me. Everyone wants to see what I have to say. This thread was as dead as the Lions playoff hopes without me being in here spreading my own brand of crazy. You are welcome! |

You all made your little jokes about me, my team and my fandom. You all had your fun saying how the Lions were going to finally break through to the Super Bowl. How they didn't need BJ. You were even posting Campbell pressers for all of us to enjoy. Then what happened? Where did all the Lions fans go? Off the bandwagon? You are only in here now, to start up with me. And I am cool with that! I know how sad you are right now! Go ahead, and let me be your shoulder to Dan Campbell cry on. I don't need to post all the receipts from you delusional Lions fans. Lions back in the trash where they belong. Bears back on top. You will have to live with that for at least another year now. And that must suck for you!

There are rational Bears fans on here. Grid is not one of them. He may have significant psychological problems. We all wish him the best in getting his head right.
Down year for the Lions. It happens. Bears improved after and caught some breaks here and there. Still one game to play for seeding. Lions will go down swinging against Benedict Arnold Johnson. A Bears fan will have the honor of creating the 2026 thread once the season is over.

Every time the Lions beat the Bears. Which isn't very often, as the Bears have dominated the all time record VS them. That is just the Lions Super Bowl. God knows, they will never sniff an actual one! |
