$20 entry is absolutely insane.

I hate paying the $15 that Philly charges and thats the highest I’ve seen for a non National

Look at the bottom too, "Please Note: Prices Do Not Include Applicable Fees."

But hey, show promoters probably need to raise prices to account for all the time they spend responding to Sports Card Dealers complaining about the Pokemon Dealers and Pokemon Dealers complaining about Sports Card Dealers.

The Philly show pricing is:

$15 on Friday
$20 onsite / $15 for pre-order on Saturday
$15 on Sunday

I find it hard to imagine any show (excluding the National) warranting a higher priced admission than that show.

Maybe the Dallas Show?
Before it closed up shop, the Chantilly Show?
What about the Burbank Show?

I wonder how much it costs to rent out a baseball stadium?

Dallas and Burbank are dumps and should be lower.

We might not see a Chantilly show in 2026.

I don't mind paying $15-20 to get into a big show. I've paid more for early admission to some. I think the big one in St. Paul, MN is $15 but then there's a $20 fee to park nearby. Still cheaper than a round of golf at most places and another line item on the 1040 Schedule C. Cheap entertainment in general if you like looking at different cards.

Headed over to the Janesville, WI show yesterday. It was at a new convention/sports center. It was quite packed and almost felt like a lively sports bar. They had music blaring and a beverage cart with plans to show some NFL game at noon (I didn't stick around long enough to see which game). Have to say it was quite a bit of fun with all that excitement and energy surrounding it.

It depends on the show and what the division is between sports cards and Pokemon/TCG.

I'm not paying a penny to attend a show unless it's 80-90% sports cards.....

I remember local shows cost $5 to get into in the 90s. I can’t believe shows today at professional stadiums cost $20.

I don't know if there's a show in the US north of 100 tables that's 80% sports at this point.

I know.....I went to one 400-table show last summer (admission was $10 or $15, don't remember), left after an hour without buying a single card because it was more than 50% Pokemon/TCG.

FWIW, I hated the last Burbank show I went to, and vow never to go to another one as long as I live.

60-70% Pokemon/One-Piece/TCG

Years previous, I would spend 4+ hours, but the last show I spent, maybe 90 minutes and walked out empty handed

I echo what others have said here about it. Personally speaking, I should disclose upfront I have never been to one, but I know several people who went to the one in Pasadena CA, and it's mostly TCG-centric, with very few sports cards.

They should really advertise it like this

"A SHOW FOR COLLECTORS of trading card games (Pokemon, Magic The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, Lorcana), comic books (Marvel, DC Comics, indie), Star Wars, original artwork, action figures, Funko, toys, video games, movie posters, sports memorabilia, autographs and oh yeah we have some sports cards too"

TCG subsidizes sports cards. I don’t think most dealers could make it without TCG.

The West Coast Card show (formally Burbank) this February is sports only. I'm really looking forward to it.

Might be worth the 1.5+ hour drive out to Ontario. Probably not, but maybe.

Really? How are they able to enforce that?

I thought it was good enough that they tried to separate them into sections already, but there was still pokemon intermixed because some dealers do both.

Is anyone going to the Front Row Las Vegas show on January 10-11? 600 tables supposedly.

Yes I plan to go. Though I have long been amazed by what these promoters consider a "table".

I suggested the Nationals separate the dealers make for way better traffic flow.
All sports one side all Pokemon ect one side and dealers that do both one side.
