There's now 1 of us at work. Only reason I'm here is because our deputy director found her mom dead Monday and she said she'd come in if she needed to. I couldn't let her come in after that and be able to sleep at night.

This place is a ghost town today. I just got back from having lunch with the family in the cafeteria. Mrs. FT said there's only one lane open leaving the base through the one gate open, so that should be fun.

Made it to New Orleans yesterday. First concert was awesome last night- we were VIP front row!
Met some really cool people and saw some I haven’t seen in years. Drank a lot, danced a lot and the music was sublime. Only blip was a moment where apparently my wife turned around and saw some woman dancing too close to me for her comfort. She had a quick intense meltdown but we recovered very quickly and had a great night.
Woke up late and in pretty bad shape but we rallied enough to walk down to DuMond for coffee and beignets. Place was unsurprisingly packed for NYE and Sugar Bowl tonight. Definitely gonna grab a nap as tonight will be a later one.
Very cool city to cruise around, nothing like this out west and the folks here are extremely friendly and welcoming.
