For all the talk of Miami versus Notre Dame leading up to the playoff selection, it sure seems to me that BYU, Notre Dame and Miami all should have been in and the sad sack SEC (1-5 against the P4 this post-season) should have only had 3 teams.

Maybe tomorrow will change my mind, but there's only 1 OOC game for the SEC.

Don't worry we will have 16 or 24 team playoff soon enough and everybody gets in.

Notre Dame just wasn't good enough. No one cares about the record in meaningless bowl games anymore. NIL/Portal and new playoffs and realignments have changed all that.

Notre got what they deserved. Just had to beat Miami

Just how the world works. You cry loud enough and you'll get your way. Partricipation trophies for all, including the golden dumpers

If they were .500 you might have a point, but the SEC is getting completely boat raced by the P4 this postseason. That ain’t happening because of a minor opt out here or there…

They went on the road into Miami and lost by 3. Based on how Miami has played, it sure seems to me that Notre Dame was good enough.

Why that statement angers so many people remains as yet a mystery…

Oh, I don’t think anyone is angry. You are clearly so sensitive to the issue that everyone likes trolling you.

Nobody is angry, just tired of hearing woulda shoulda couldas from ND and bitter ND fans. The game was 3-4 months ago, the CFP selection was weeks ago. Just let it go.

Careful. If you keep posting negative facts, that one poster will scold you for being obsessed with the SEC.

I feel like Ryan Seacrest didn’t do a good job last night. Anyone else notice? I don’t think he’s on his game anymore

Miami was pretty damn good also but I don’t care about that anymore

I’m concerned about Ryan

I have an opinion and I’m defending it. I did the same thing with Florida State 2 years ago.

The key difference is that 2 years ago, the postseason results arguably hurt my thesis. This time around, the postseason results are strengthening my thesis.

Post Script: I do, however, find it amusing that you admit the haters are merely trolling and not engaged in good faith discussions. Not sure that’s the flex you seem to think it is….

Excellent point, but when I see a dumpster fire, I can’t help but watch the pretty flames.

1. The SEC teams that played meaningless bowl games have more opt outs. Their upperclassmen aren’t going to risk injury on their way to the NFL. Tennessee wasn’t even the same team vs Illinois.

2. They also match up the middle of the road SEC teams with higher ranked teams on purpose. Missouri, Tennessee, and LSU were great examples of this. All three barely lost. Even 5-7 MS St is matched up with 8-4 Wake Forest. Thats why the SEC isn’t doing well. It’s really not hard to see.

These are facts and cannot be disputed.

SEC stans: A middle of the road SEC team would win the ACC or Big 12

Also SEC stans: It’s not fair to compare our middle of the road teams who are matched up against higher ranked OOC teams

^^^ Yep! I like how when they lose a game it’s because they’re “so beat up from the regular season”. Doesn’t add up though. How did Alabama and the other win their national championships after being so beat up from their grueling season?
