For all the talk of Miami versus Notre Dame leading up to the playoff selection, it sure seems to me that BYU, Notre Dame and Miami all should have been in and the sad sack SEC (1-5 against the P4 this post-season) should have only had 3 teams.
Maybe tomorrow will change my mind, but there's only 1 OOC game for the SEC. |

Notre Dame just wasn't good enough. No one cares about the record in meaningless bowl games anymore. NIL/Portal and new playoffs and realignments have changed all that. Notre got what they deserved. Just had to beat Miami

They went on the road into Miami and lost by 3. Based on how Miami has played, it sure seems to me that Notre Dame was good enough. Why that statement angers so many people remains as yet a mystery… Last edited by Fenway55; 01-01-2026 at 06:15 AM. |

Oh, I don’t think anyone is angry. You are clearly so sensitive to the issue that everyone likes trolling you.

I feel like Ryan Seacrest didn’t do a good job last night. Anyone else notice? I don’t think he’s on his game anymore
Miami was pretty damn good also but I don’t care about that anymore I’m concerned about Ryan

The key difference is that 2 years ago, the postseason results arguably hurt my thesis. This time around, the postseason results are strengthening my thesis. Post Script: I do, however, find it amusing that you admit the haters are merely trolling and not engaged in good faith discussions. Not sure that’s the flex you seem to think it is….

1. The SEC teams that played meaningless bowl games have more opt outs. Their upperclassmen aren’t going to risk injury on their way to the NFL. Tennessee wasn’t even the same team vs Illinois.
2. They also match up the middle of the road SEC teams with higher ranked teams on purpose. Missouri, Tennessee, and LSU were great examples of this. All three barely lost. Even 5-7 MS St is matched up with 8-4 Wake Forest. Thats why the SEC isn’t doing well. It’s really not hard to see. These are facts and cannot be disputed.

Also SEC stans: It’s not fair to compare our middle of the road teams who are matched up against higher ranked OOC teams |

^^^ Yep! I like how when they lose a game it’s because they’re “so beat up from the regular season”. Doesn’t add up though. How did Alabama and the other win their national championships after being so beat up from their grueling season?
