Every January 1st, I calculate the statistics on how many photographs and fire departments I have added in the previous year.

New fire apparatus photographed: 743 (125 more than 2024)

New ambulances photographed: 123

New fire departments photographed (at least one apparatus): 282 (3 less than 2024)

Pierce dominates with 1,873 total fire trucks photographed with Spartan way behind in second with 625.

Pennsylvania is still the leader in most departments with at least one apparatus from 778 different departments compared to New Jersey in second place at 646.

She still carries some scars from a cheating boyfriend many years ago. Occasionally they rear up but it’s fine. I’m a very lucky dude.

Really fun time in New Orleans! My first time spending any real time hanging out there.
It was interesting flying from one NYE destination (my home in Vegas) to another and noting the differences. I gotta say I much prefer the people and vibe down here. Not nearly as expensive and the architecture and history of the city is really cool to explore and learn about. At the airport now waiting to board. I really miss my boys and my bed.

You wouldn’t say that in the summer. Hot like Vegas but humid as balls in the summer. I was there once over the 4th of July and it was brutal.

Sitting at the office and nobody else is here yet. I haven't heard anything from any of them. I know T is off again, but no word from anybody on if they'll be here. I have to go pick up basketball jerseys for the 5-6 year olds that start Sunday, so I guess the doors will just get locked.

You’re absolutely right. After acclimating to dry heat for the last 25 years, summers in the south would not suit me very well.
Went to Michigan with my wife for a family reunion in July a few years back and suffered mightily sitting in the shade as still as possible.
I can only imagine 95 with 95% humidity.
Since then I’ve mandated I can only visit there in spring or fall.
That said it was a crisp 55-60 earlier this week in New Orleans and I was actually chilly a few times. Only brought one thin flannel with me.
