While I’m annoyed with the SWAU sticker placement, to say I got these for less than $500 total, puts these box prices in perspective to me.

I was interested in these until the price came up (especially for sticker autos) and a couple months wait so passed.

Same story as all but 1 product with any level of demand for the last 6+ months.

Sit in a waiting line that never results in a checkout.

Says they don't ship to your address.

Says they don't accept any payment method you try.

Cart jacked even though product shows in stock for many more minutes and sometimes 30+ minutes later.

Zero manual users can buy a case.

Boxes were at least not bad to get for the people.

you can find most of the autos on the checklist for less than $300.

Crazy pricing by fanatics. 10x for the ipo!

are we having fun yet?

For any in demand release the issue isn't the price. It's that you can't buy it, can't buy the case option, and/or the limit is low.

Well it sold out, so clearly the price point wasn't an issue. Expect the next Stranger Things release to be $400.

I don't think they have ever raised the price more than 15% from preorder to at release. I don't think anything $300 or more has ever been more than 10%. If the secondary market value is that good they will just sell less of it and hold more back to sell later through the backdoor or on Fanatics website at higher prices.

Just a PSA for everyone. These two "warnings" are just bad error messages from the checkout system. They obviously need to fix this crap. It's essentially just sold out and they aren't spitting back anything helpful/useful. Doesn't mean they won't ship to you or that your payment method isn't accepted. These useless error messages have happened across numerous product releases, so they clearly haven't fixed it.

Not true. These are always error messages right away and some people get checkouts after. All the error messages are happening while the product is still actually in stock and people get checkouts sometimes many minutes later.

If they had the checkout system how it was the first handful of releases with Shopify where the products were in stock for around 45-90 seconds and then sold out many more manual users would get orders and you could get cases. When was the last in demand release not named Bowman Draft, if that even counts as in demand, that a single manual user was able to buy the case option?

Lmao

Very good

But ya topps fanatics they don’t care

As long as they have gambling boats running

They could care less.

I buy 10 percent of what used to They win I’m pushed out

But to be honest. I’m being pushed out of the worst aspect of my finances

Opening wax is such a bad financial decision and breaking is much worse

So maybe I should thank fanatics

300 is way too much given none of these autos are worth more than the price of a box. And it still sold out.

It's true.

I'm a reformed ripper.

I still collect some.

But after the dopamine of the boxes arriving and ripping them, most base would be donated after I put a set together, the set would go in a box next to other boxes that I've never opened and looked at again, along with the low/mid level "hits" like the Mrs. Wheeler autos, and one David Harbour auto redemption, once it came in, went into a one-touch and into a different box of "hits" I'd only go through once a year or so.

And that was when I'd buy a 4x Stranger Things hobby boxes at $100 or so each, before the COVID multiplier.

I can't imagine paying $1200 + tax / shipping for 4 boxes now - with 10 cards, can't even complete a set. Call it $1300. New tires for both cars. Or 40 cards.

Forget it.

I’m so glad that I forgot this was today and was at the grocery store when this dropped. For $100 less than a single hobby box, I will be able to feed an and launder the kids for another 2 weeks. #Winning!

And that part is the most believable

The struggle so many people have with credit cards homes cars etc

This sums it up really quick

If blowout presells this for 500-600

It won’t surprise me one bit

They had dune for sale for 190 and a week later it was 69.99

Makes me want to rethink a lot of things and where you buy things

That's what I had to do.

When I'd drop $3,000 on wax in a quarter, then be up in arms when the estimate to refurbish the guest bathroom shower was $6,000 (and will likely last 25+ years) - I had to retrain my brain.

$1,000s on wax was ok.

$1,000s on day to day household and automobile stuff - everyone was trying to rip me off.

Really had my head in a vice for a while there.

Ditto but on a smaller scale.

Buy a box of cards for $300 that will undoubtedly be a loser or buy a Hot Toys figure for $300 that I will display in my office for years and will potentially appreciate in value?

I basically recognize that from the years 2010-2014, I had a gambling addiction. Thankfully, I never went into debt and always fully funded my 401k during that time.

I was buying tek and zero cool all year

Only word I can describe this was dormant

Nobody cared until season released

Now you want to sell an auto and relic for 300-500 dollars per box

Plus you want everyone to wait 70 days for release

You can tell this is a monopoly because no business would be able to survive like this

In 2-3 months nobody is going to care after initial release …. This is going to cool off quick

Be careful of FOMO

Right. This should have been ready by now. But, good for Fanatics as always, bad for us.
