I think that weighs more heavily than people think and Maye squeaks it out.
This is what SHOULD happen.

I think the voters will be sentimental and give it to Stafford as more of a "career achievement" award. I think schedule will also be a factor.

Why would schedule be a factor?

That information was known while last year was still playing out.

I should have trusted my self and made a ton of money by betting Stafford last week. I told everyone those odds were nuts. It was like +400-500 for Stafford and Maye was -500-600 or something.

Now we've flipped around and Stafford is -180. I don't think either deserves it over the other, this should be a CO-MVP year if I've ever seen one. McNair/Manning was less deserving than Maye/Stafford. But I agree with the guy above, as I've said about MVPs they are media awards. Stafford has like 50 passing TDs, 1st or 2nd in yards, his swan song - they are going to give it to him over Maye if they don't do CO.

This is garbage reasoning.

Not calling either of you garbage, but this is the only reason Stafford would win it outright, which is garbage reasoning.

They showed staffords kids cheering on their dad as part of the highlights package on nfl network.

Stafford is clearly winning MVP.

I'd prefer if Maye won, as I have more of his rookie cards than I do of Stafford's, but unfortunately, I don't think there's any way the NFL can award the MVP to a QB who was annihilated at home by the Raiders. Las Vegas was football's absolute worst team, and its lowest scoring by nearly 40 points, although that somehow didn't stop them from beating Drake like a rented mule.

Stafford should win the award. His season came against much stiffer competition. Drake Maye had a great season and was worthy of mention, but he faced by far the easiest schedule. The Pats' strength of schedule was .391. Meanwhile, the Rams strength of schedule was the toughest in the NFL with a .526.

The fact Stafford had a better statistical year against far tougher competition puts the award easily in Staffords hands.

At the beginning of the season the Patriots were ranked 30th in strength of schedule. So going into the season we figured they'd have lots of cupcakes. The year ends and it turns out they actually had the 32nd strength of schedule, nobody had an easier path. Lets not crown this kid just yet.

I give it to Maye honestly. I feel like Stafford had a better support system with Nacua/Adams and the same Head Coach and same offensive/defensive coordinators. They had Jimmy G as a back up. I feel like he could have gotten that team to the playoffs.

Maye on the other hand is on a team with a new coach, new offensive and defensive coordinators, and no real superstars on the team other than Diggs who is not on a level as the Rams WRs. No way Joshua Dobbs would have gotten that team to where they went.

Only one game in a dome for Maye this year. Instead he’s played in many outdoor and cold weather games.

Padford was nice and cozy with perfect conditions in many of his games.

You also forgot that Maye had the easiest schedule in 38 years.

Given that it would've only taken 10 wins to get the final Wild Card, and based on how good he looked in preseason, this Rams team might've made the playoffs with third-stringer Stetson Bennett.

Stafford missed his chance to seal the MVP discussion against Atlanta, now it's basically a coin flip right now.

So you are saying I should invest heavily in Quinn Ewers since he will have an easy schedule next year?
