There's a scenario where every team is capable of winning every game, but I don't like the thin Charges O-Line or how Herbert is still teating his non-throwing hand like it's made of porcelain (holding it up when he falls, not wanting to jar it or put weight on it, at least seemingly). He's certainly not 100%.

That said, can they win? Absolutely. But I'm not putting money on a SoCal, indoor stadium team with those problems going into New England in January, even getting +3.5.

Drop pass rank broncos as a team: 2nd in the league, bEngram 8 drops on the season out of 58 catchable passes or at a rate of 13% of drops on catchable passes . Let’s diagnose the run game. Harvey is not cutting it. That being said, Harvey rushed for 540 yards on 146 carries or just 3.6 YPC. His run success rate out of every RB in the league with minimum of 85 carries has a success rate ranks 50th of 55 RBs- ouch. By comparison, Dobbins ranks 18th of 55 RBs.


Payton play calling has not been great. Way too many throws behind the line or at the line. It’s small ball, too conservative no deep shots making this team have to inch down the field. Refuses to air it out or get aggressive despite when the Broncos have trained and Bo Nix has needed to play 2 minute offense he’s at his best and has sliced defenses up in that situation. In that situation he’s got a 86QBR which is 3rd in the league a 95.6 passer rating and 4 TDs.
In the last 7 games Nix only has 3 picks and 9 total TDs. He’s clearly not the reason they are not doing better.

Back to the Payton play calling he still refuses to let his biggest playmaker get involved. Marvin Mims is the fastest player on this team and has good hands. He has caught multiple TDs from Nix of over 50 yards yet Payton lets him touch the ball like 3-4 times on offense for short dink and dunk plays.

Also, Bo Nix led the league in passing attempts. This should not be the case- Payton needs to run the ball more but as I mentioned Harvey is not effective in that role he’s too small.

Penalties - this team is 5th in the league in penalties. Penalties end drives, take points off the board, and give the opponent yards and points

The take aways and I post these same things week after week;

The Payton play calling is too conservative too dink and dunk and not aggressive enough. He’s not allowing the most explosive weapon on the team to touch the ball. He’s a large reason this team is playing close games — period and he’s not calling enough run plays

The running Game with Harvey is not going to cut it. He’s a good 3rd down back but they have to use McGloughlin more he’s a much better power runner.

Dropped passes in the playoffs will make you lose games, these drops can’t happen

The penalties need to stop. This is on the coach he doesn’t have this team disciplined enough
