Total print run of Fine Art Prints from Topps for the first 500 cards is 19,544, with an average of 39 prints per card. After that Topps moved to the open edition model, and the artists began offering artist signed Fine Art Prints.

Fanatics sucks. I wish they would give some justification for this decision. They don't even have the decency to remove the wall art graphic and link from the living set page.

When I got Jared's email last week I sent an email to Topps detailing my extreme disappointment in them removing the prints and decided to just tell them about all the horrible decisions they made with Now and Living Set since Fanatics took over (removing the bundles, making all relic/autos in Now a chase, having parallels replace the base card, etc.).

I figured this would be ignored and, no surprise, I haven't gotten any response or acknowledgement from them that they even cared to read it.

So this devastates me. Have over 375 of the prints and around 200 of then signed. To know I will never have a Mike Schmidt, Sandy Koufax, Reggie Jackson, or Steve Carlton makes this feel incomplete and I am not happy. Who can I email at Topps (I know it doesn't matter...). This is ridiculous as they are print on demand. Jared/Gabe, can we print these ourselves on a nice stock to print? Players love seeing and signing these things.

Wohhh woh woh, we're just customers who spend large amounts of our disposable income on this hobby -- what makes you think our voices should matter?

Papa Fanatics says we don't need prints, we don't need prints. Best we can do is what we've always done: drop trou and say thank you, sir, may I have another?

As a Star Wars fan, I assure you there are fates worse than this unfortunately.

This is how the artists should submit the art work to Topps. Ridiculous

I just used the generic customer service email I found on the website. Unfortunately I don't know any other way to send one as I'm sure this was just immediately deleted when they received it.

I hate what Papa Fanatics did to the Black & White set (lazy color hued parallels instead of beautiful B&W/color combinations). I scream from the highest mountain tops on differrent platforms (and taking a poke here). Crickets. Seems people love it more now...the hobby can be strange (or taken over by gambling chasers). Oh well.

And now the prints are gone...that was a good run. It went sideways when Topps absolutely F'ed up in glorious style on the Mickey Mantle print. That was unforgivable and that seemed the onus to change the selling format. It was fine with the 100 for sale but they were too lazy to put in preventative steps to keep that from happening again.

Fanatics doesn't care about anything that's not numbered or can't be opened by a breaker online. It's feed you the latest class of rookies across multiple sets until it's time to do it again next year.

I was really looking forward to a Sandy Koufax art print some day. Topps has no motivation to do anything that is collector-friendly because breakers, gamblers and investors gobble up whatever crap they release regardless of the price. At some point a great number of people are going to lose a great deal of money - but Topps will do just fine.

Honestly, I’m not promoting that collectors breach copyright protections but I can certainly see how they may resort to scanning the cards in an effort to reproduce them as closely as possible to their current format and proportions.

More ideally, Topps would allow the artists to keep their original artwork, sell it, or sell their own prints generated from it. Of course there is zero chance of any of this happening.

The original artists like Jarred are losing out on a lot of money by not retaining their original artwork. The market for original art in the comic book and comic card world is significant. Artist like Boris Vellejo and Julie Bell have kept their original artwork which was used to produce the Marvel Masterpieces cards. Many artists who have followed have done the same.

Jarred you need a good lawyer to get this in your contract. You’re missing out my friend.

I believe in P2020, Blake Jamieson said he negotiated to keep his art but I think he couldn’t sell it…but there might have been a timeline when he could later(?)

This week is an example of how the lack of a bundle will greatly affect the print runs for the cards. Specifically, if Topps still offered the bundle, it easily would have boosted the final print run for Gabe's fabulous Schmidt offering by at least 1000 cards.

Amazing art, Gabe!

Here's a look at the complete Kyle Stowers artwork:

Glad to see Schmidt for 900!!!

However, I was worried about this. Looks like checklist cards are a thing of the past? If so, just another horrible decision changing my favorite set.

I really hope this isn't the end of the checklists.

Jared, any chance you can reach out to your contact to determine if this was just an oversight?

I too hope checklist cards not gone. This happened once before and that posted a day or two after cards so I’m going to give it a few days before I panic.

Amazing art and pick for #900 🫡

Add me to the list of those wondering about the checklist… definitely need those to continue.

Schmidt was the biggest name missing for me personally… waited a long time for that one. Still holding out hope that we’ll get a Rose some day soon as well.

Thanks for the kind words about the Mike Schmidt! It was nice to work on a piece featuring one of the all-time greats.

Here's the full completed artwork:

Love this Schmidt. Of course I can’t get a print with them discontinuing them. What a shame. I would have purchased multiple of this print. Nice work Gabe.
