I kind of agree here - I think Darnold has a much higher ceiling though (but maybe a lower floor). Geno was just ungodly boring to watch and you could always count on him to make a game losing play when it mattered most.............But I think for many of us Hawks fans Geno seemed like a decent QB due to still being deeply scarred by the Dave Krieg years (still need therapy)....

what darnold got is basically what geno turned down. if vegas is going to give him 40+ so be it. darnold is a younger stopgap while the defense comes into its own under MM and kubiak gets a familiar face to instill the offense they want. wouldnt shock me either if JS trades up if they really like a day 2/3 qb as well.

With training camp starting - how is everyone feeling about the upcoming season?

And Mike M also - I know when he was hired, I just assumed he'd be successful.
Now whether that is 9-11 wins a season for the next 10 years and the Seahawks continue to be the Steelers west -OR- multiple deep playoff runs and a Bowl visit or 2, I don't know.
And his first season last year, just increased the feeling. He just seems like a #winner at all levels he has been at.
(disclaimer, it seems like the Steelers are trying to be the Cowboys/Jets this season, so who knows)

First coach since Holmgren where I felt that way, that success was likely.

Jim Mora - seemed like Holmgren endorsed his, so I figured why not give him a try, but NO assumption of success here.

Even PC - he had failed 2x in the NFL, but had success in college, so was hoping he'd be better then Mora, but never expected the run he had. Looking back, and having read his book, I can see where it came from, but it wasn't obvious in 2010.

I know biggest question is offense, so much change, even if its better then last year, may take a few games.

And the Noah Fant release was kinda a surprise, but seems like they will likely keep a FB, so maybe just being nice and letting him sign with another team early.

A few surprising players finally got cards, wasn't expecting this:

Who's ready for some football?

Pete Carroll revenge tour starts on 8/7! Its being posted he is playing his starters

Sadly my friend has the COVID and so I'll be watching the game on my tablet instead of his giant TV.

Also - picked this up - Chris Warren with a couple of RANDOs - not sure why they didn't use Seahawks greats like Jerry Rice and Warren Moon to go with him, would have been much more logical. Or even TO....

Looks like this thread didn't get updated in awhile.

I've mostly been on Reddit lately, but figured I'd come back for PRE SUPERBOWL WEEK..... The biggest issue with reddit is it seems like discussions disappear after 2 days.... But here discussions can go on for years... Or decades.

Some recent pickups - Mostly been working on my Panini Instant and Oddball collections, but a few cards of current players

This was WAY more HUGE then I thought it would be - for some reason looking at the picture online, I was thinking closer to page size.... BUT ITS POSTER SIZE... I also got the Milroe, but left it sealed until I have a place to display it....

Some of my other recent Hawks pickups(that's actually Baker Mayfield, and NOT Trent Dilfer) :

It's not backwards

I've only been a Seahawks fan since the 90's, so I never got to watch the likes of Largent and Zorn, but they seem to have laid the groundwork for what it is to be a Seahawk.

Really looking forward to watching them in the Super Bowl again. I was fortunate enough to witness their first Lombardi with my late grandfather (rip) and experienced the heartbreak of the 2nd one with my father. Win or lose, I feel like both teams are playing with house money so to speak as no one expected either to be the final two. Both teams overachieved expectations, and both seem to be building their program the right way for the future.

Go Hawks!!!

That arroyo Hand painting oversized auto is sick. I miss when things like that were found in packs either box toppers or redemptions.

Very excited to be back in the Superbowl. I had my doubts on Darnold and that big contract but happy to see the locker room loves him and the team so tightly knit together and championship hungry.

I was right about them getting rid of DK and how he is always good for a couple losses by himself each year. It surprised me to see how mediocre his numbers were. He basically mirrored what Darrel Jackson did with the Seahawks. Only difference is Darrall Jackson autos are in the $1-20 range and DK still goes for $100 to $1000 plus constantly. People love wasting money on that guy.

Because of his SPEED/SIZE combo - until he retires his values will be inflated because of "potential"

Imagine if Cooper Kupp retires after the superbowl and goes into coaching like many suspect will happen eventually and opens up a school for Receivers... DK spends the whole off season working with Kupp and getting his attitude right....

Suddenly we see a new DK next year.

It could happen...

Hence the values

Or next year could be more of the same...

You never know....

He's already 28. Realistically he'd have 4 or 5 years left in him. Only accolade he has is 1 2nd team all pro. He hasn't hit double digit TDs in the last 4 seasons, Hasn't played a full season or hit 1k yards in the past 2 seasons. I wish him the best but even if he had a perfect storm and the Steelers ended up with some pass Happy QB (old Rodgers only had 3,300 yards last season) like a Stafford/Prescott and had 5 1k yard receiving seasons to end his career. That would only put him at 12,174 yards receiving and sandwiched inbetween Charlie Joiner and Jimmy Smith at 30th all time. With 17 game seasons and younger guys already passed him or on a trajectory to pass him like Lamb, Chase, St. Brown, etc... I don't think he would sniff the Hall. He'd have to absolutely go off for 4 or 5 years straight to make the Hall let alone be worth half of his current prices.

Sounds like the Seahawks will go up for sale next year. God please give us an owner as good as Schneider and Mcdaniels.

I'm not a fan of the distractive Buzz this has caused. Wrong time to be spamming it online imo. I could see it being owned by a corporation with multiple investors like how Lynch bought into the Seattle Kraken and Brady bought into the Raiders.

It's tough to gauge. I'd say the offenses are close with Seattle having a slight edge with potential homerun plays. The defenses are close at #1 and #2. I'd give a edge to the Patriots coaching staff and an edge to the Seattle Special teams. Seattle has no depth on offense so if there is a key injury they will have a tough time scoring. Their D is great but only had 1 Sack on Stafford in their last 5 games. So if NE has a great OL then they will be fine. It basically boils down to mistake free football and if Maye/Darnold can stay level headed all game. I like the Hawks chances but honestly don't know enough about the Patriots depth and last weeks odd snow game really gave 0 clues to how good that team is.

We don't know if this Patriots team is good or not really. Soft schedule, weak playoff opponents.

Still believe that betting line is fishy. There might be value here though. Maybe Vegas thinks most fans believe the Pats are for real.
