Had the displeasure of visiting our local ER last night. Youngest had a fall and broke his clavicle. Place used to be great, but man PE and Fake Not-For-Profit healthcare is the worst. 10 years ago, you'd be in and out in under an hour. Last night it took an hour just to get the x-ray to confirm what I already knew and another hour for the doctor to say, "yep, you were right"

Congested with all sorts of people who should've been told that their issues aren't ER worthy and to go find an urgent care or follow up with a PCP. The issues:

A fatty with openly acknowledged ignored high blood pressure, openly acknowledged "I'm going to try a month or 2 of diet and exercise" (narrator whispers - TF you actually are), and only asking to get his BP checked because he's waiting for his care to get towed.

A family that brought their kid in for effing DIAPER RASH

Gonna have to look into moving further away from the loop if this keeps up.

Sadly, unlike 10 years ago, I'm guessing this doc spent a few years in the Caribbean to get the "degree"

PE only cares about whether or not someone can LEGALLY practice medicine - not whether or not they SHOULD

EMTALA prevents the ER from telling these people to fug off, but they should be able to tell someone to fug off when they show up mid week with a diaper rash complaint or if they show up because "I've ignored an issue for 10 years, but I'm taking it "seriously" because I'm waiting for a tow"

Thing is, too many people out there that would tell people to fug off because they thought they might not get paid. Rock. Hard place. Etc
