Default Jordan 1986 PSA 9 “Stain”

Trying to negotiate a deal with a private seller and I’ve never come across a stain designation from PSA before. It’s graded a 9 which is appealing but was wondering what the stain designation does for the value.

This is the sticker variation for clarity.

Thoughts appreciated!

What does the label on the front say? That's an old slab.

Generally the thought is a qualifier is worth 2 levels so think PSA 7 prices. Others can chime in but I think that’s right.

tanks the value and limits the interest. IF its on the back and doesn't bother you. IF this is a PC Card and not an attempt to flip. THEN it might be worth it. I would make sure the centering and colors are great and the only flaw is the back stain. Truth be told I personally would stay away a qualifier is a big deal.

The cert is: 11963021

PSA 9 (ST) is roughly comparable in market value to a PSA 7 or PSA 8, but it depends on the card, the severity of the stain, and the collector demand at the time.

I would make my intitial offer to the seller at the comp price of a PSA 7, which is about $1,500 at this time, but will not end up negotiating higher than a PSA 8, with comps at almost $3,000.

So... that's my target: $1,500 to $3,000

But, it's up to you.

Yeah, it's been at least a year since one has sold that cheap.

Thats generally accepted......personally id rather have a PSA 7 than a PSA 9 with any Q....but that maybe a minority opinion.

People will buy these cards to remove the wax on the back to regrade. It is a glossy type back and panty hose will take it right off.

Kinda begs the question.......everyone knows the stickers all have a wax stain out of the packs.....yet PSA gives it a "st" quali if its not removed.....considering its how they came from the factory and the wax belongs there....should it not even be looked at as a stain?...also removing the wax is in part an alteration of how the card came from fleer.
