Instead of red/black/gold/etc, we now have:
-red
-red wave
-red prism
-red geometric
-black
-black wave
-black prism
-black geometric
-gold
-gold wave
-gold prism
-gold geometric

X1000(glitter, sand, raywave, whatever)
That's nothing unusual though....that's what Fanatics has done to EVERY product!

Topps Heritage baseball cards had 23 parallels this year.....five years ago they had only six.

But, that ship has long sailed, and we are left to the wolves as collectors.
I don't really understand why the leagues made that decision.

Do the league really make more money giving the license to one company rather than give it to two or three?

I understand that the respective Players Associations own some piece of the pie now, but couldn't that have been negotiated into all licenses?

Seems shortsighted, but I'm also not a labor negotiator.

I’d imagine they can charge more for one license than they can for two separate ones.

Yes, because the companies are paying a ton of money for the right to be the only producer - more than the NFL/NFLPA/players would make if there were multiple producers. That's why Panini won the exclusive back when they got it, and Fanatics just upped the ante far beyond what Panini would have ever been able to do.

As long as the floor is low enough a higher starting price is better for the buyer. Which somehow the majority of this hobby doesn't get as there is endless complaining about auction starting prices being high.

What's hilarious is Im reading people saying this will sell out around $3,000. I guess these are the same breakers we are talking about that were dumb enough to make sure Panini Honors FOTL sold out at $1700ish a month ago and the vast majority of them lost money or are holding a big bag there.

How can anyone think this is equal to let alone worth more than Topps Chrome Basketball FDI which is around $2500 a box?

If you're going to argue for those FDI cards, 2024 Prizm Deca Football FOTL had as good of exclusive cards as any football product ever with a class that was red hot. Pretty much anyone that wasn't a breaker that sold breaks right away lost money on that product buying during the auction no matter what price you bought at. I don't know if a single box sold on any platform for higher than the sell out price.

Because Topps has made it very tough to follow what the FDI cards are, haven't all these FDI cards so far just been straight numbered to something like /7 and /15? There have been no 1/1 chase cards in any of these either, correct? If so that obviously that limits the value.

Wonder how Topps was able to mention what the FDI cards were for the soccer release last week but mysteriously can't have them yet again for a more popular release.

I remember back in the good ol' days when I could get a FOTL box for the srp of a regular hobby box. That was fun.
