The lowest sale of a 2025 gilded storm - $104 for Kyle Tucker.

Kyle Tucker has really managed to hit the hobby wall pretty hard despite leaving Houston for Chicago and LA.

Yeah Tucker is pretty much hobby dead.

This may also indicate the end of those who may actually be perusing a set - the cost of the Ohtani may have decided it for many folks.

However, the player collectors seem to be driving interest in the 2025s, whereas I felt like set collectors were a bigger factor driving 2024 sales.

I was in on this card early. The fact that he is in a Cubs uniform, when his year with the Cubs was not memorable, probably “helps” keep this one down. I figured I’d try for this one, since it is in a Cubs uniform, but not for over $100. No matter how great the set is.

In the big picture, $100 for a 12th year Kyle Tucker insert card/25 is still pricey.

Crazy that the first one sold for $400!

He's just never been good enough to be hobby relevant, he's securely a "hall of very good" type player

Not to mention he got a late start performance wise

Topps could have used either:

Cal Raleigh
Jose Ramirez
Tarik Skubal
Pete Alonso
Bo Bichette
Kyle Schwarber
Matt Olson

to replace Tucker if they needed a popular and new veteran name for the set. Maybe we will see one of these guys next year.

Any other new players you would like to see for next year?

Or should they just stick with the most popular guys?

It's been 1.5 years since this inaugural insert set has been released and we're at the point that the graded population report has not budged in over a month at least. Safe to say, 2024 gilded is no longer being broken and I believe between 90-95% of the 2500 total cases produced of this product has already been opened. It is interesting to note that the 2025 gilded storms have in general sold for more than the 2024's at the same corresponding time period after product release, though of course more recent sales of some players in the 2024 set has not been existent. No doubt some of the cards will advertise for higher than the "high" column as sellers comp the 2024 cards using 2025 data. I have still not seen a 2024 gilded storm at a card show in 2026. Here is the latest monthly price guide:

GS-1 Elly De La Cruz 1000 2000
GS-2 Wyatt Langford 600 900
GS-3 Paul Skenes 1800 2300
GS-4 Jung Hoo Lee 300 500
GS-5 Jasson Dominguez 250 400
GS-6 Junior Caminero 850 1200
GS-7 Jordan Lawlar 200 350
GS-8 Evan Carter 150 200
GS-9 Heston Kjerstad 100 200
GS-10 Pete Crow-Armstrong 750 1300+
GS-11 Yoshinobu Yamamoto 800 1300
GS-12 Jackson Holliday 400 600
GS-13 Mike Trout 400 600
GS-14 Corbin Carroll 250 400
GS-15 Ronald Acuna Jr 300 450
GS-16 Yordan Alvarez 350+ 450+
GS-17 Mookie Betts 400+ 600+
GS-18 Shohei Ohtani 4500 7000
