Default Magic Johnson and Stephen A. Smith rips Russell Westbrook

SH Blog: Russell Westbrook takes a media beating after Game 2

Did you guys hear Magic at halftime about Westbrook? He said it was the worst performance from a point guard he'd ever seen in a finals game. I thought that was a pretty crazy thing to say and wrote about it. Of course Stephen A. Smith said the exact same thing. I don't think he would have gone as far as he did if he didn't hear Magic say it first.

For the most part, Westbrook shut a lot of people up until now because he kept making shots. Now that he's missed a little more, people are jumping at him again. I don't think it's right. Why do people expect him to change or play differently, knowing exactly who he is and what he does? The scrutiny on him after last night's game is comparable to LeBron James when he fails. People should chill. I'm not a fan of him playing the PG position, but that's what he is on that team and the dude's been mostly making a lot of big shots. He's not going to make them if he's not taking them, and Durant can't do it alone. Let Westbrook be Westbrook.

It's reasonable to think that, but as LeBatard said, "Westbrook has 337 playoff shots. Durant 321. OKC 25-5 when RW shoots more."

Plus KD got in foul trouble last night, which played a role in him not getting as many shots in the first half.

There is a reason that "tard" is in his last name... I can't stand him.

I HIGHLY doubt that OKC winning has any correlation to RW shooting more than Durant. Durant is shooting .514 while Westbrook is only at .457... anybody can jack up shots.

The point is... if OKC isn't running their offense though Durant, they will NOT win this series.

You really worry about what this guy says(Stephen A. Smith) Come On. Him and Skip Bayless are a joke. they ask questions but never have to face them.(Not once have I ever seen anyone hold them accountable of the garbage that falls from there mouth) I don't listen to them clowns.

I know it's a double-edged sword, but if he hadn't taken and missed so many {bad} shots early, they might not have been in the hole that they were (but got out of, thanks to Harden and then Westbrook).
I wonder if he's following the plays or just shooting for himself. He misses a lot of shots a lot of the time but it tends to not look as bad later after he's shot and made some more.

Westbrook doesn't have to yell at someone's face every time he makes a dunk or tough layup. He thinks he is gansta or something?!? Someone should just deck him........

Just the opposite, actually. He HATES Westbrook. Since he can't stand him as a point guard, he decided to find a way to be more objective about his overall game.

That stat proves nothing. Durant's shooting percentage is better than Westbook's. Anyone can take shots. Whoever's BIG 4 scores more is going to win. Plain and simple. (Just my opinion lol)

Game 1
Thunder Big 4(Ibaka)= 78 points
Heat Big 4(Battier)= 76 points

Game 2
Thunder Big 4(Ibaka)= 87 points
Heat Big 4(Battier)= 89 points

Westbrook looks for camera time like Lebron does everytime he makes a play lol. Difference is Lebron gets called out for it

Ha. I'm guessing you might be one of the two people that disliked the video. You're entitled to yours.

DRose would never play badly enough to warrant this accusation. Once again:

Rose >>> Westbrook

Still can't believe you people thought otherwise. Westbrook isn't even a top 5 PG.

So get rid of Westbrook, without him Durant would have had 3 rings by now and be scoring like 60 pts a game because he takes better shots and shoots 99% FG.

LOL

Why Westbrook Was NOT The Worst PG in NBA Finals History - YouTube!

Here's the second part of that breakdown. Make of it what you will, but I thought it was great.

You can clearly see he does miss Kevin Durant one too many times, but that comes with the territory when you're talking about RW.

Westbrook is avgeraging 9 assists in the 2 finals games how bad of a pg is he.......

27pg
6rebs
9ast
2stl

and shooting 45%

give me a break he is the 3rd best player out there after durant and lebron, im sure if durant wanted to take more shots he would!

He's playing with Durant, so he must give the ball to Durant on every play and average at least 15 assists, he must also keep the scoring up.

In other words he must do what no other PG in history has done in the playoffs.

I am glad Scotty Brooks doesnt listen to the media

Westbrook gets no love no matter what he does lol! He is a HUGE reason why "we've" got the team we do. Anybody that follows OKC can vouch for that. KD, Scottie, & the rest of his team have his back each and every time some hasbeen or neverwas opens thier mouth in the media about his game, so that says alot. Russ is Russ and OKC fans know what he brings-the positives greatly outway the negatives and he's only getting better...hell i'd say he's grown leaps and bounds just in these playoffs alone...but what do i know right? ...i'm nowhere in skip bayless' or stephen A smiths league when it comes to basketball acomplishments ...oh and by the way maybe Magic should be more worried about finding a point guard for "his" team instead of bashing "ours" just sayin'
