I think Melo would LOVE Nash...Nash would easily differ some scoring and provide some NICE passes to a wide open Melo. Ask Amare how fun that was in PHX..

I'd be All Over this trade if it worked out for the Knicks

You guys know this is just a sign and trade trade right? Its not an actual straight up trade. If Nash wants to go to NY, the Suns are able to get assets and Nash can get more $$ by doing this.

Its LOL that people are actually evaluating it like its an actual trade. Its expiring contracts, and a somewhat decent player and cap space to help the Suns and Nash get to NY if he wants to. That is all

I hope Nash goes to Toronto though, good for basketball and for the Raptors

But melo doesn't benefit from catching the ball wide open. He needs to have the ball in his hands to create. Bringing in Nash would disrupt this.

I would do it in a heart beat if Iman comes back 100%. So over the emotionless Landry Fields with his limited handle and suspect jumper. Nash can still get it done

Haha yeah it seemed initially that people were like "Oh no not 4 good players leaving!" Tony Douglas is the only player in the ENTIRE TRADE with a guaranteed contract right now. Jordan and Gadzuric are non guaranteed, Fields is a restricted FA, and Nash is obviously a FA.

Aside from Toronto who has the cap space, I would not be surprised to see a lot of teams do this...Celtics wont help the Heat if Allen goes, but Nash to the Heat or Knicks, or trades with the Blazers etc. It happens.

HAHA Thank you! No one understands what is actually going on. They think they Knicks are actually trading Landry Fields and the Suns are trading Nash lol.

Lol...if you consider Landry worth $9.80, Toney worth $.18, and the other two guys as pennies.

And Nash is DEFINITELY not a $5 bill. Most people have him listed in the top 5 free agents, he shoots well (he's often a member of the 50/40/90 club, i.e. 50% from floor, 40% from 3, 90% from FT) and he led the league in assist:turnover ratio with about 3 assists to every 1 turnover. Nash's slash line was .532/.390/.894.

Lin (your starting PG if not for Nash) shot /.446/.320/.798 and turned the ball over like it's his job.

Fields (granted not a PG, but the best player you "lose" here) shot .460/.256/.562 and had 1.6 assists for every turnover.

Toney, your other PG? .324/.231/.846, with a 1.37 ratio.

And Shumpert, the PG who would likely back up Nash when all is said and done? .401/.306/.798 with a 1.47 ratio.

Can't say Nash isn't a HUGE upgrade over those 4 guys, even at his advanced age.

Nash would be great for the Knicks.

He's getting older, and better in the half-court offensive.

Plus he will be able to get the ball to both Carmelo and Amare.

A pass-first PG is a good choice for a team with 2 offensive superstars.

Jerome Jordan and Gadzuric have non guaranteed contracts, so they can be waived before the season and neither team would have to pay a penny. The Suns could decide to keep either or both and pay them a very small salary. Nash would have to choose NY and Fields would have to choose PHX for this to occur. Tell me what is wrong because PHX is getting free players and getting a little money from NY and NY can pay Nash more to convince him to go to NY.
Fields hasnt hit his prime and nash is 39 turrible trade

Like I said...
Nash at .532/.390/.894
Fields at .460/.256/.562

Yeah he's a ton older, but Nash hasn't shown signs of slowing down and his rate stats are terrific. Amare turns 30 himself this November...

I disagree...Watch him catch this on the wing and do whatever he wants from there..Shoot, slash the basket, etc.

melo catches the ball and holds it for like 5-7 seconds at times. nash is most effective when he has the ball and finds players or makes shots for his teammates.

melo is not a open jump shooter in my opinion. i don't think nash has ever really played with a player like melo and i just am not convinced it will work.

I would be stoked if that deal went through and I was a Knicks fan. You are getting an MVP pg that could completely turn Amare and Tyson Chandler back into scoring threats and have someone to dish to Melo. Hey you might lose possible great talent in Landry Fields and Toney Douglas, but that trade seems fair for both sides and surely puts the Knicks into contention. This would also have to be a sign and trade because Landry and Nash are both free agents.

Hehe this was the funniest joke post I ever read. "Great talent" and Toney Douglas ALWAYS go hand and hand!

great talent? landry and toney? you can tell that you're not a knicks fan lol...i mean i love landry but he hasn't been good in about a year and a half...he litteraly had a half of a good season, and can't play with melo....toney is an undersized 2 guard who i really feel has no real place in the league, although he's my boy too...just thinking about it rationally lol...thats basically giving up nothing...itd be nice to keep landry only because they'd be thin at the 2 and the 3 with shump being hurt but landry is the only thing worth value in the trade anyways...

I said possible great talent haha. But to be fair they are still young enough to develop into good players.

I think with the right team Landry could make an impact and I am more on your end as far as Toney goes haha.
