I'm just puzzled as to why he is an "autographed rookie" redemption for 2012 Finest even though he had his autographed rookie in the 2011 product. It means that another rookie won't have an on-card auto this year, and that's kind of a bummer.

I also have a long history of hating on sticker autos, but that is neither here nor there

I kind of like the idea. Based on the scan, it's not an RC Auto, "just" a vet auto.

I don't think anyone has ever liked sticker autos

Would have been cool if these redemptions were on card - just for a change of pace. I know that isn't reasonable because I feel like they are just picking a hot player one day and sending them out the next.

I think that Trout is the only sticker...Marte and Jackson are both (and have been promoted as) on-card.

Id rather have seen a player that has never had a finest rc auto as well. If I had to choose between the 2011 finest trout auto vs the 2012 trout auto, I would definately rather have the 2011 version.

Not necessarily. If Trout makes it on the checklist as an RC Auto, pretty sure the world will stop turning, I'll feel the ocean creeping up on my feet in Central California, and instead of global warming from above, we'll have global cooling from below.

Don't get me wrong, all those things would be welcomed, but I just don't see it happening.

Trout's RC logo autos are in 2011 Finest and Sterling. Even he is a rookie this year, his 2012 cards are no longer rookie cards.

Well, we all know what Topps can or had done by putting the RC logo on a player's card for 2 consecutive years, but that was a mistake and should not happen.

If he gets an auto in 2012 Chrome, it will be a vet auto of some kind.

Well Stephen Strasburg has "Rookie Autographs" with no RC logo in 2011 Bowman Sterling, they could do the same with Trout in Topps Chrome.

His 2011 finest refractor RC auto /499 goes for right around $200. The #3 mystery redemption were selling for $100 before it was announced as Trout. I can't see why this would sell for more than his 2011 finest auto RC...shouldn't be going for more than $150 imho.
