After reading this thread:
http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/b...cher-gone.html it got me to thinking, which of the current pitchers in the MLB are locks for the Hall? I'm thinking Rivera and Halladay are locks, with Kershaw and Felix well on their way to HOF careers. If Verlander starts to decline now, I don't think he'll get in. Is that really it? Two locks and two most likely's?? Who am I missing? |

If Verlander can be just average for 5 more seasons he'll be a lock due to his career numbers and the fact that he won an MVP as a pitcher

Rivera is the only active I would call a lock, there are several who have been around that could become locks and a few young ones that should they continue to develop they could be. But only one I can say with any confidence is Rivera.

Rivera. Others could have career ending injury tomorrow and not make it based on current stats.

I agree. At this point Rivera is the only one that's a sure lock. His body of work over decades speaks for itself.

Pretty crazy that there's only one lock considering how many hitters have most likely already punched their tickets.
jeter, pujols, cabrera, ichiro i'd say are locks and there are a lot more who are well on their way |

I think locks:
Rivera Halladay Too soon to call, but likely: Felix Verlander Kershaw Kimbrel Lee Really too soon: Strasburg Darvish |

I really don't feel halladay is a lock. If he can get it so he has at least 100 more wins than loses then yes but now no.

Halladay is like a decade older than Felix. And he's had much more success than all of those guys. He's definitely past them.

Cliff Lee's stats are close, if not better than Felix (who according to this boards is a lock).
Halladay also pitched when everyone was roided up. |
