Recognition of God is not directed at a singular religion, nor is it integration of the institution of a singular religion.

One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

I get it, you're very angry because Christians hate gay people in your mind for no reason. Just want to keep them down because it's the thing to do and they just feel it's right. So there is no reasoning with you if you can't understand the other issues at work here.
It could infringe on other rights outlined in the Constitution...........? Are you for real? Is that your position on this? You are wanting your religious beliefs to determine legislation, at the expense of liberty for all. Pathetic attempt to mask your bigotry. I am not angry, I am sad for you. Our government was set up like this for over the last 200 years for many reasons, some of which as a protection for the religious institutions. One nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all. Even your intolerant, bigotry is protected as long as it does not infringes on civil liberties for all.

Should everyone now wear a sign stating their sexual preference to be HEROIC and respected? Do we REALLY need to know? Are some of the other sexual preferences going to be even MORE HEROIC to the media?

It's not just you. The human brain has a hard time grasping nothingness or infinite. How many people can even grasp the fact that what I'm writing right now is already being read by someone in the future?

As for the original topic, let Michael be Michael. Even if it's his choice to be gay instead of straight then he has that right. If another guy wants to be gay with him then good for them. If he is gay and can play NFL level football then he has the right to do both. Just because I'm not gay doesn't mean that gay doesn't exist. By Michael coming out it won't change my, or any other person's, straightness. If he is willing to put in the work and has the skills to play then his choice in dinner dates shouldn't prevent him from doing so.

There is too much evidence to say that evolution doesn't exist. I always like the idea that a creator created, but things still evolved.

I guess the part that I can't wrap my mind around is, where did it all begin?

I understand the Big Bang, but what was before that? I guess, I struggle with the concept of nothingness. How did we get something out of nothing?

But then, I also find myself confused about if there is a creator, how did he come to be? I mean, there has to be a beginning, right? Maybe the human concept of "time" is irrelevant, I don't know.

Now my brain is flustered...

Yes, it is normal.

You know why I consider it to be normal, because its a physical manifestation of feelings that those two individuals have for each other. Same as the physical manifestation of feelings between a man and a woman, or a woman and a woman. Science shows that the body goes through the exact same stages of arousal and brain activity regardless of whether or not they are of the same sex. SO, therefore, its pretty normal activity.

I dont see many people complaining when Men and Women have anal sex...haha. HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. You know why? Sex doesnt define people.

Why do I keep posting in this thread? Ugh.

I have mentioned this before, go and google the way the church came to have the views you spew without actually researching them. Most of these decisions were done the way they were - NOT because your God said so.

Equal protection, under US law, from all discrimination. If you do not stand for that, what do you stand for? What are the alternative means of protection from discrimination? One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. All of the other parts of this I will leave for others to debate morality, for it has no relevance toward equal protection under the law.

In the last eight weeks, other then the Virginia decision, federal judges in Utah and Oklahoma have struck down laws limiting marriage equality. A federal judge in Kentucky ruled the state must recognize same-sex marriages from other states. And in Ohio, a federal judge issued a more narrow ruling that cast doubt on the state's ban. It likely won't make it past the next lawsuit already filed.

The judges are saying they can see no legitimate justification for denying marriage licenses to same-sex couples. With the Supreme Court having said that states cannot validly base marriage laws on traditional religious disapproval of homosexuality, the remaining justifications offered to defend the laws fail to pass muster.

There really is no question were the courts are going on this issue. This movement against the gays will backfire and soon we will have fed laws that protect them. I can't help but find it sad we need such laws.

"With Liberty, and Justice for ALL."

Fun fact: Under God wasn't added until 1954. I believe it had something to do with the US being paranoid of communism.

Fun Fact: In God we trust wasn't official a motto until 1956. Probably same reason.

We haven't always had either.

What's really funny is that republicans can't seem to see the writing on the wall, and instead seem determined to look like a bunch of racists and bigots stuck in the stone age.

(No, that's not how I view all Republicans but the party as a whole certainly has that image)

typical left-wing nonsense. if someone doesn't agree with you, label them a bigot so that you can avoid any real discussion or debate. way to go.

it is when a bigot is defined as anyone who disagrees with you.

Other Fun Facts:

in 1776 the Declaration of Independence stated that men are endowed with Rights by their Creator (aka God).

George Washington once said, “It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will..."

in 1782 the government recommended the Bible for teaching in all schools

John Adams once wrote, "The Declaration of Independence laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity."

then there is Thomas Jefferson, "God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God?"

as for "In God We Trust," while it's true it wasn't adopted as an official motto until later it had been in use in the US long before that. for example, it was printed on coins starting in the 1860's. was communism a big concern back then? or maybe you're just repeating more nonsense liberal talking points.

so.... let's stop pretending that this nation wasn't founded by religious men on religious principles.

very true. unless, of course, you apply facts and a little history. i mean, Democrats were the party of slavery, they founded the KKK, they fought against women's suffrage, they tried to filibuster the 1964 Civil Rights Act... but yeah, let's pretend that it all never happened. because, as we all know, Dems are doing so much today to help minorities... just look at how liberal policies have benefited blacks in Dem strongholds like Detroit and Chicago. it's working out great!

disclaimer - i don't care if this dude or anyone else is gay. good for him. i hope he's happy. let him get married. whatever. but i am very tired of the militant left-wing tactics that attack anyone who dares to question or disagree with their worldviews... especially when they are often hypocritical, ignorant of history and just plain wrong.

lol.

You do know that the Democrats who supported segregation are today's Republicans, yes?

Pretty funny, you go on and on about how horrible liberals are.....and then try to take credit for liberal movements.

"it is when a bigot is defined as anyone who disagrees with you.

today, a "racist" is simply someone who has pissed off a liberal."

Bigotry is the state of mind of a bigot: someone who, as a result of their prejudices, treats or views other people with fear, distrust, hatred, contempt, or intolerance on the basis of a person's opinion, ethnicity, race, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic status, or other characteristics.

"very true. unless, of course, you apply facts and a little history. i mean, Democrats were the party of slavery, they founded the KKK, they fought against women's suffrage, they tried to filibuster the 1964 Civil Rights Act..."

Of course this completely ignores that the both parties switched sides during the civil rights movement. The Northern Republicans became the Democrats, and the Southern Democrats, who fought the Civil Rights Act, became the Republicans.

The nations forefathers were all slave owners, and hardly people who many would consider good or decent today. Also the country's laws were not founded on the Declaration of Independence, as Christians, like yourself try to claim. There was no United States then. It was founded on the Constitution, which does not mention God, and not by accident.

What I find most interesting in all of this, is the same people demanding we revert to the original constitution (who apparently don't understand that does away with the Bill of Rights, the 14th amendment, and other like parts of it) are demanding the government enter everyone's bedroom.

By the way, the Supreme Court ruling that is opening doors for gays, was done by a republican conservative majority court. However, following the constitution, they had no choice.
