Hello all!
About 15 years ago, my family and I re-discovered my uncle's old baseball card collection in a shed at my grandmother's house. We've moved most of them on, but held on to 11 of the biggest finds. They include several Hank Aarons, Mantles, a Pete Rose RC, and more! I'm really interested in getting your feedback on the below scans (they're big, sorry). Should I get these graded? The cards are in okay condition, certainly not the best though. I'll start with front scans of first four: 1) 1955 Topps Hank Aaron #47 2) 1955 Topps Harmon Killebrew RC #124 3) 1956 Topps Hank Aaron #31 4) 1956 Brooklyn Dodgers Team Card #166 More on the way later tonight! Scans of the back are available at: Vintage pictures by enjoyale81 - Photobucket ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks- I'll look forward to seeing everyone's responses! |

I don't think I would grade those. The corners on those four will really keep grades down. If using Beckett those would probably grade around a 3. A friend of mine sent in some vintage from that time period and some very nice cards received 4.5 with no visible creases or rounded corners.

5) 1957 Topps Warren Spahn (the goop on his face is printed) 6) 1958 Topps Hank Aaron (off-centered) 7) 1959 Topps Mickey Mantle Again, scans of the back of the cards are at the link in my original post. Here are the fronts: ![]() ![]() ![]() I appreciate your thoughts! |

I agree, I would save your money and just hold on to the cards without grading them. Wouldn't be worth it. I sent in some nice vintage last year (really good condition) and I still couldn't get anything higher than a 5

I think any non-mutilated Mantle regular issue card is worth grading.

Thanks for the advice guys. Here are the last four:
8) 1964 Pete Rose RC 9) 1964 Mickey Mantle (creases in the bottom center) 10) 1964 Willie Mays ![]() ![]() ![]() And...if you've looked this far, number 11: 11) 1948 Stan Musial ![]() Yeah, it's in crappy condition. Notice the pin-hole through the top; this card was well-loved. Even though it won't grade very high, I might do it anyway just to make sure this card is original and not a reprint. Backs, as usual, are available here: Vintage pictures by enjoyale81 - Photobucket Thanks for stopping by! |

Pretty sure that's not Pete Rose's RC. I think it was 1963 with other players on the card. Nonetheless, those are great cards to have in your collection.
