How much more can Trout prices rise?

instead of starting a new thread, can someone explain to me how mike trout led the majors in steals his first season, then dropped off by 30%, and now is stealing less than before??

is it a matter of speed? or something else?

He's focusing more on hitting it seems and pitchers are paying way more attention to him so he just has to pick his spots a lot more carefully. He's 10/10 this year so he's just playing it smart plus he's well on pace to set a career high in home runs so that's perfectly fine with me

Comes down to two things. First, Pujols doesn't like him stealing. That has been covered many times. The movement in the background throws off his hitting. Second, Trout has said that he prefers hitting hr's. He was asked if he would rather hit 40 hr's or steal 60 bags and he answered "40 hr's and it isn't close". Ladies love the long ball, stealing bases not so much.

thanks. im not a huge baseball guy, so i wasnt so sure. i see that guys like ben revere and jose altuve and ellsbury gets steals on a year-by-year basis, so i was just wondering. guess you have less opportunities to steal a base when you hit HRs and round them all

oh that pujols thing actually makes a lot of sense. (as does the ladies comment, of course)

No, he is just as fast but for whatever reason he has been focusing more on hitting home runs and not attempting to steal as many bases. He is 10/10 in stolen base attempts so the speed is still there. I wish he would run more because that is what makes him so special, a .300+ hitter with the combination of speed and power (and defense).
