Default What Week Will The Pey-Pey Man Break Favre's Record?

He needs 18 to do it. What week will it be? My money is on Week 10 in Oakland.

I say week 3 vs Seattle. Payback is going to be a female dog!

Denver goes up against a lot of great defenses early on.

LOL...if Manning thought it was loud in NYC he might need four pairs of noise cancelling headphones for his trip out to Seattle.

Never? People think Brees has always been the Brees we've seen lately. Go look at his beginning years. Very lackluster. Peyton has been doing this since the beginning.

I didn't even realize he was that close. Manning is just incredible. I feel honored to have been able to witness his entire career and can't wait to tell my son all about him as he gets older.

How long till several inferior quarterbacks break all of these records because of extended careers combined with the new pass friendly league?

Brees just said he can play till he's 45. He will eventually cream Mannings records.

Why would you think otherwise? And are we gonna sit here and pretend Manning didn't throw for 23 ints and 28 ints 'early' in his career. He wasn't perfect. Let's also forget that Manning played with Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and Marshall Faulk.

Oh man, Brees said he will play til he's 45 -- let's go home.

Talk is one thing, doing is another. Peyton just had the greatest season a QB has ever had -- and at age 37. And this year will be another great one. What he is doing now is special.

And I have no clue what point you are trying to make with those numbers. It doesn't do anything for this augment. I brought up their early years because I was stating that Peyton has pretty much always been elite -- Brees has not.

Brees' first five seasons: 12,348 yards and 80 TDs
Peyton's first five seasons: 20,618 yards and 138 TDs

Lotta ground to make up just from there.

I see you have edited your post.

What is your comprehension level at? Doesn't seem too good. This discussion has nothing to do with who is better. We are discussing who has the best numbers and who will break records. Jesus Christ.

So instead of laying out your predictions you guys are going to turn this into "my binkie is better than your binkie?"

Why am I surprised? I should have seen this coming...

I've been working outside all day and was typing while walking...I edited before any responses. So what is the harm in the edit.

I don't understand what The first five years of Brees have to do with current Brees or Brees heading forward. He is in a video game league where 37 year old qbs coming off broken backs can throw for 55 TDs. It is impressive. But it also the way the league is heading. Brees has consistently thrown for 5000 yards and 40 TDs the past few years. He has 3 of the top 5 and 4 of the top 7 passing yard season totals in nfl history. He isn't on a downward spiral. He looks like he's in good shape. Are you predicting Brees will suffer a career ending injury?
More importantly, when do you predict Brees production will dramatically drop. I'm genuinely interested to hear your opinion.

Bottom line is this...I doubt we ever see qb play like we are now with Brady, peyton, and brees...you can throw rodgers in that mix as well. A post above nailed it...I feel privileged to watch these guys, and I can't wait to tell future generations about them. When all is said and done, we are probably watching 3-4 of the top 10 qbs of all time.

It's been a long offseason. A little longer for some people i see. Manning will break most of Favres records, except the Iron Man award, unless Mannin plays till he is 64. Who knows though

Depending how long manning hangs around after this season, Brees has a shot.

Lol this cracks me up. I'll give you Reggie Wayne and Marshall Faulk, but Marvin Harrison sucks. Peyton Manning MADE Marvin Harrison. Who wanted Marvin afterward? No one. Manning made Marvin just like me made Stokley, Garcon, Austin Collie, etc.... Those guys were/are nothing without him.

I'll give you props on Brees though, if anyone has a chance it's him, but just because he says he can play till he's 45 doesn't mean he will. A lot can happen in between now and then.

Week 1 lol

Week 8. Book it.

Brees makes me think of a combo of Flacco (better playoff efficiency in his SB run) and Romo (big regular season stats, gets blamed for losses when the defense gives up 14 in the final 5 minutes). Only Brees gets praise for big regular season stats, even when his team gets knocked out of the Playoffs 1-1, 1-1, 1-1, 0-1 over his tenure.

He's talented of course. He'll break some records. But that RB committee, and an 8 foot tall YAC machine at TE, really helped his numbers some years.

How many more TDs would Favre have if was playing with these sissy baby rules in effect for the last half of his career?
