Default User wants paypal invoice for eBay purchase

Is it ok to do this? I'm so used to handling everything directly on ebay. How do I connect my eBay listing to the paypal invoice? I know I can send an eBay invoice, but he's asking for a paypal invoice. I'm kind of confused on this one. I just want to make sure I'm as protected as I can be, considering this is a $400 - $500 card.

Thanks!

haha. I hear ya there. 2 non-payers already on this card, that's why I'm so hesitant about this transaction in the first place.

If it was bought through Ebay then here should no reason for them to need a Paypal invoice. One thing they could be doing is getting you Paypal info and going to try to send you a fake payment confirmation hoping you will sen the card without verifying it.

If its this card http://www.ebay.com/itm/13-14-Nation...item3ceabfe8da

Then it has not even been sold and collecting payment for it would be a violation of Ebay rules and could get you slapped for it as it would be considered an off-Ebay transaction.

Yeah that's the card. That's what I'm getting at though. I want to complete the transaction ON eBay for seller protection, but I don't know of a way to tie the two together. I have instructed the buyer to use BIN or make an offer through eBay just because I don't like the smell of this.

Thanks for the heads up on fake payment stuff. I would of course check paypal itself before I shipped, but I'm sure there are some who have been had by that trick before. Never surprised to hear that stuff...

If he buys it then he will be able to pay straight from the invoice through Paypal there is no need for you to send that info. Especially on a card that has not even been bought. I would just block him

Yeah. I have a feeling I won't hear from this buyer again. Even though they have over 300 positive feedback with 100% positive. I guess that's what is throwing me off the most, the good reputation they have on eBay right now.

Haha. Well I know that. But they have a ton as a seller. That's what I meant. Guess I wasn't specific there.

Blocked, thanks so much.

As a seller if he makes a transaction you can report it to ebay before you leave feedback. Also call ebay & explain what the guy is doing.

He obviously is trying to deal off ebay....and working around the feedback system to his advantage.

Not sure what the advantage would be for a buyer to go outside Ebay. The feedback system favors the buyer. That buyer could get everyone of those bad positives removed if he reported them to Ebay.

One thing I figure could be happening is that he has several strikes for non-payment and is being blocked by many sellers so is doing this to get around these blocks. This is not this sellers first attempt.

I read in other forums sellers falling for that trick. Some sellers only focus to read the e-mails and never check the PayPal balance.
