Nothing at all. Ergo my question as to "what the f is going on here". I was just trying to let everyone in on what was going on in my head based on what I'd read so far, I immediately thought "evil millionaire mastermind". Just sounded so much cooler than a rich guy who has a room full of really expensive cards.

Another thing; Couldnt this very well be one of the buyback companies like I said earlier? Super break or leaf?

It's been ongoing. These cards are just not resurfacing...it's been proven.

Not Superbreak or Leaf because the card wouldn't have gone for so much IMHO.
You got the story now though. I've always read about the guy that buys a lot of Championship Tickets and assumed I'd never see this card once, but I saw it and I didn't get it, probably never see it again.

On to World Series Baseball and hopefully a Royals win tonight.
Thanks for the posts guys.

That sucks man. If it's e***e/h***c/etc (private) you won't see it again if you lose. I don't know about other sports, but he collects only products he likes which is Chrome, NT, Contenders, and I'm assuming the new high end products this year? He goes after only the 1/1's, including both ebay 1/1s. He doesn't just throw up one million dollar ceilings because he can though. He pays what he thinks is fair value for it. This may be an extremely ridiculous amount to most people, but it's what he considers the market value. You can get a card if you want it bad enough, but you will have to overpay by a lot. I would love to see just a sample of that guys collection, it must be ridiculous.

Indeed.

He snagged the Jordy Championship Ticket from last years Contenders and I fully expect to never see it again. I felt like I made him overpay, but it was probably nickles and dimes to him compared to what I can put up.

Makes me glad that I have both his rookie Champ Ticket autos already. Suck it, Howard!

For the record, I have nothing against the guy. Although, I would love to see his collection...

Another K-Stater that I don't expect to get the Championship Ticket of!
I felt as though I would have been overpaying by about $150 when I bid $350. I just didn't think this would be on the radar, that's what bummed me out, plus I just sold about $600 worth of Jordy Nelson cards to pay for the Sproles Championship Ticket and a couple other high end cards I am going after. Didn't pick any of those up did you?

I myself like to buy championship tickets and 1/1s of random players i like. So, i dont have a problem with what he does. Hes outbid me on a lot of high end cards and every now and then i beat him out or usually its just that the card was listed poorly, lol. Anyway, he and belenhoya (not currently active, #pleasedontcomeback) have been two of the endless pockets buying up 1/1s for awhile now. Howard more recent though. Anyway, just trying to inform the blowout community. Howard has strong interest in these cards and some people have his SONS number that they can call if they come across something he may seriously want. Oh well. Theres some of the story

PS. Sorry that you lost that card OP. I actually missed the auction myself and didnt know about it. NO WAY you wouldve been overpaying by that amount. I wouldve been in your range.
