As many here know I collect a lot from 2012-13 Absolute. Specifically I pick up 12-13 Absolute Star Gazing Primes. They are not exactly readily available so I try and stay on top of things in terms of searches and such.
Anyway, I have been fortunate of late to have a few biggies pop up for sale. I am not trying to complete the set (LeBron is a 1/1 so it is damn near impossible) but I pick them up as often as I can. To the cards: This one came from Taiwan and is /25. This is the fourth John wall that I own. I hit two from wax and grabbed two from ebay. The patch is just piping but I paid $14 with delivery included so it was worth it. 2012-13 Absolute Star Gazing Prime John Wall by jasonmarchand1981, on FlickrOn to the next: This came from Kentucky and is /10. I had yet to see a Dirk so when it came up on ebay I sent my best offer within a few minutes of it being listed. I offered $40 and figured it was fair and left room for a counter if need be (but I did think it was fair). The patch is...just odd. It is like reflective type of cloth and I have no clue what part of the jersey. 2012-13 Absolute Star Gazing Prime Dirk by jasonmarchand1981, on FlickrThis guy came from California and is /5! The top right corner has a little damage which I did not notice but I am ok with it since there are only four others. I made a best offer on this of $75. I thought it was fair and it left room for a counter if need be. The patch is ridiculous in person. 2012-13 Absolute Star Gazing Prime Chris Paul by jasonmarchand1981, on FlickrLastly, the new crown jewel of my 2012-13 Absolute Star Gazing Prime collection. This guy came from Nebraska and is /10. This was auction style and was $70-some bucks with a minute left. I placed one bid for $150. I ended up paying just shy of $149 for it. I looked at the bidding history and it looked legit. With that being said, I probably overpaid for this but I am ok with that. Anyway, in all its glory: 2012-13 Absolute Star Gazing Prizm Kevin Durant by jasonmarchand1981, on FlickrThoughts? Opinions? I would love to hear them. |

Nah! Lebron is a 1/1. I will just compile. If the Lebron ever comes up for sale I will make a run at it but probably too rich for my blood.

I like how you've brought them all in from the far corners of the collecting world! Well done. Perhaps you overpaid a tad on the KD but we all do that with certain projects. I have no issue with at all- great cards without question.

Beautiful cards/set. I have the Vince Carter regular jersey version and it's one of my fav low-end cards. Solid additions to your Absolute collection. Look forward to seeing more!

Awesome stuff. These are great cards. That Dirk is cool. Someone has a Dirk I need for a patch set I'm trying for and they are holding it hostage. Congrats on the great additions bud.

I remember when you started collecting these more than a year ago! Which makes this thread so much sweeter to browse. Since i only collect patches, i must say all the cards are awesome. The Wall was a sweet deal, the Dirk is sick, the CP3 is rare and a beauty (i tried to pick up one of them a couple of years ago but the seller wanted something like $200) and finally the KD is stunning. Are you going after the complete set? and what is ur completion % so far? All the luck man!
