Default CGC Fantastic Four 38

Just picked up Fantastic Four 38 I don't care about condition as long as the comic is complete. Wanted CGC or CBCS not for the grade, but to protect the comic. I wish one of those companies would seal comics without grading them. instead of grading, do a cheaper service just for the protection.

I'm looking at some other FF and Legion of Superheroes vintage comics, so this may b the start of a good collection!

Nice pickup

I store my higher end books in E.Gerber Mylites with fullback boards, inside BCW toploaders. Gives excellent protection and looks as good as in a slab IMO

Gonna look into that. I swear this is the one thing about comics that drives me nuts, keeping them protected.

I vaguely remember a Kickstarter project of a slab style holder with a hinge so you can swap out books.

But yeah, Gerbers and Toploaders are worth a look.

I bought some hinge style millcases a few years ago. They were really expensive, and they weren't big enough. A comic would fit in them, but just barely. U had to b extremely careful, or u would pinch the side of the comic. I have a bunch of signed playbills that I put in them, worked perfect for that.

okay, ordered 100 full back and Mylites 2 off ebay together for $47 s&h included. Got 50 BCW toploads current size for $58 s&h included.

Does anyone know where you buy microchamber paper? Is it only for older comics that used newsprint?

Try to e-mail Drew at: sales@investmentcomicsupplies.com

The ICP website is sort of wonky. I'm personally not sold on the overall benefit of MCP, but it does seem to help in protecting against odors such as smoking, and the general off-gassing of paper. There's multiple articles to read that either extol or diminish the benefits of mcp in relationship to comics conservation. Using mcp certainly won't hurt.

You can find mcp on eBay..at least that's where I found it a few months back..you may have to trim it a little depending on the size of the paper/era of book.

From what I understand it's for older books as newer books have changed to using better paper but I believe CGC still uses it when slabbing moderns.. I think, don't quote me on that.
