No, I agree with that completely. He needs to touch the ball 20+ times for the Vikings to win. 10 rushes is the reason why the pass wasn't working. Build off the run to have success in the pass, like the 49ers did. It was VERY questionable play calling by Norv but I think after watching the film, they are ALL going to learn a lot from this game and improve from it.

Yeah, that's inexcusable. You have a weapon like that and don't run him 25 times? The game was close for much of the game and they seemed unwilling to run.

Its because any time they saw 7 in the box they aborted the run, which is stupid. How many times have we seen AP torch 7-9 in the box?

If you're referring to Cordarelle Patterson, Jarious Wright, Charles Johnson, Kyle Rudolph, or mike Wallace (a shell of Wallace) then you must not see the real talent in the NFL, because it's not them

Yeah, it makes me wonder. I'd like to see if Peterson has something left in the tank, but tonight was not a good sample size.

Charles Johnson runs phenomenal routes. He played great last season. While Mike Wallace might not be the same player he used to be, he is still talented and will catch the ball. And Kyle Rudolph is a top 10 tight end in the league when he is healthy. They have talent on their roster, they just need to use the run to their advantage so that they can throw the ball.

I think we all know he has something left there, but when you run him 10 times in an entire game, you aren't giving him a chance to break out a run or two. Horrible play calling by Norv and company tonight. Hopefully they fix that issue this week heading into the game against Detroit.

Kyle Rudolph is not a top ten talent for two reasons...1. He's never healthy, 2. He not a top 10 tight end.

I agree they have talent, Harrison smith and Adrian Peterson and possibly Barr, but they don't have enough talent to consistently win, especially when they don't use their only "special" athlete

2014 QB Class (Bortles, Carr, Bridgewater, Manziel)

65-108, 657 yards, 2 tds, 4 ints, 3 fumbles

Yikes. Not the best start for those guys.

If, and its a big if, Rudolph stays healthy this season, he will end with top 10 tight end stats. Norv likes to used his tight ends, well, usually, except when he makes dumb play calls like tonight.

I don't think we will see the Vikings lay a defensive egg like that the rest of the season, or at least I hope.

Do you think they are trying to start the year off with a new identity and phase AP out? A dumb way of thinking to "shorten your rebuild years"?? Just a thought.....

With the amount of money they are throwing at Peterson, I doubt they are trying to phase him out. I just think it was terrible play calling and scared play calling when they saw the 49ers stack the box

I don't get it though. Just like someone said earlier, he's always had that many in the box during his whole career..

I've been telling my local 49ers-fan buddies about Hyde for the past six months. All the casual fans could say was that they "lost all the good players." God forbid they know something about the young talent.

Yet somehow I forget to buy a single Hyde for myself. Whoops.

After dominating the Vikings, Jim Tomsula has to wake up at 6 AM to give a drywall quote on for a client's condo.

haha, was wondering when someone would make that comment, it's too true.
That's what makes him so likeable as a player's coach compared to Harbaugh, he's like your passionate high school coach that you want to make proud

At 5:45 AM, Coach Tomsula gets a fat wad of Skoal in his cheek after downing a breakfast of 5 strips of bacon, 4 eggs with pepper and a black coffee.

I don't think anyone can dislike this guy. He just worked his ass off and earned his success. Very humble and seems like a guy that would tell you dad jokes and expect a sympathetic laugh.
