I think OP stands a chance at resubbing to BGS and getting a 10 auto. My other 3 Contenders are also 9.5/10 with this being the worst of the 4 I have.

Also OP, if this is for your PC, which mine is, then don't worry to much about the auto on this card. It's to rare of a card to worry about the auto. Just be happy ya have one!

serial number lookup for that slab says auto is an 8... much more in line with what it should be. if that be a 10, i'm out this game!

Wow that is weird! They must have slabbed it incorrectly! I need to get in contact with them BGS! Thank you so much for pointing that out!!!

Wow, it does show an 8 auto grade. That's weird.

I have a related question, but how is it that the on card auto on my Odell Beckham refractor card is graded a 10 and is sharp and non streaky, but the one on card on Contenders appears to be streaky? I would assume that they would both have similar qualities, since they are both signed on card.

Would it have something to do with the paper stock used for the Contenders cards, or maybe is there a difference in the pen used on the contenders cards that makes it look like that? Just curious. Thanks!

Yeah...that 10 auto is definitely not a 10 auto. Maybe I can submit mine and get a 10 auto but they slab it with an 8.

Idk but do a serial look up on my card. In Becketts system it shows an 8 but on my card it says 10. So I'm way confused lol

Oh my gosh you're right. How the heck does that happen? Yeah I would definitely call Beckett on that for sure. Looks like they might have mis-labeled that card. Not entirely sure about the QC department over there.

Definitely giving them a call tomorrow! I'm dumbfounded at the moment! I just assume to trust them and have never looked up the serial number after getting them back!

i've seen it happen before... they grade it one thing and then when the slab it, the low level employee they probably have doing it gets distracted by all the 10's that come across his plate and forgets to double check. on questionable 9/10's it's tough, because after the fact there's no way to know if the error is in the slabbing or in the pop report data entry, but in this case it's an easy call... if you ever put that up for sale, no way you'd get what a 10 auto normally would. Still a sweet card either way, but panooni needs to buy themselves some new lumocolor pens!

That's insane. It really irks me because I was stoked. I hope BGS makes it right though because it's a misrepresentation and I don't like it.

they'll probably take 2-3 weeks to fix it and maybe offer a free grading to send in with it, but you'll still have to send a few bucks to send it back into them. good luck, man!

Personally, I think it's a very nice find for that price.

Human error will always occur in anything. My last order had the year mis-labeled on one card and another had a 10 for each category and they did not add a black label, have not reached out yet to correct

I may just leave it in the sealed toploader and sell it as is. Anyone think that's the right approach...or is my thinking flawed on this one? Any advice would be appreciated!
Just send to PSA, as shown here, auto doesn't matter!
