Pokejew claimed to have done research to verify the case before it went to BBCE. He also claims to have lost all that research. The guy didn’t know what he was doing.

So if I follow the timeline it looks like this:

Canadian scammer possibly pokebutler sells case to mellypops and cardkahuna which pokejew helps get authenticated by BBCE then melly and cardk sell to shyne/matt who sells to LP.

GI JOE for the win !

Yep, this is the right timeline. I had to type out this same flow chart to wrap my head around who sold to who lol

I think it's more like:
1.Canadian scammer (maybe pokebutler) posts fake case on ebay
2. Pokejew tells kahuna about the case, claims it's authenticity via his research
3. Kahuna buys case with meelypops from scammer
4. Kahuna And meely authenticate cass with BBCE
5. Kahuna and meely sell case to shyne
6. Shyne sells case to LP

Best post in the thread in my opinion. It’s the perfect crime. The ultimate con.

I will say this when the owner of BBCE looks at everyone after it’s fake and says ‘We all got duped—Agree?’ the scumbag sensors went off.

Yes, that is correct.

Pokejew is the guy at around 5:30 in Logan's video that is talking about how it's the biggest case of fraud in the history of Pokemon which is ironic because he was the one who found said case, said it was real and got his buddies to purchase it.

$350k to about $425k each. With the rare G.I. Joe factory error inserts? $10 each.

I wonder what his finder's fee was and if he will be returning it.

I thought maybe Topps would commemorate it with a card in an updated Ginter subset like:

2009 Topps Allen & Ginter's - World's Biggest Hoaxes, Hoodwinks and Bamboozles Minis #HHB1 - Charles Ponzi

There were accusations about BBCE authenticating and PSA grading bad cello packs several years ago.

There was a guy named Jose Vazquez who claimed he made packs to see if they would get by PSA and they did.

Here are an old Net54 thread that has some other threads linked in it.

Take it how you wish:

Pokebeach has a good final follow up article, rehashing what Rattle discovered including info on the original Canadian culprit.

I had to laugh at that too, either very unaware of how this makes him look or a real piece of work.

I was hoping someone in that room looked at him and was "bro, really?"

Jose Vazquez was a scammer (he made and sold bad packs/cellos) but the information he gives in that thread is essentially correct. The bottom line is that BBCE authenticated hundreds/thousands of bogus cellos with stars showing on top/bottom. This doesn't surprise me in the least. I don't know how anyone can watch the video posted today and think that Steve Hart's flawed methodology is confined to Pokémon products. It's not.

Pokejew was just happy to be there. He thought he was a lot cooler than he is. I think he goes thru LPs dirty underwear hamper, if you know what I mean.
