S2 is for sure going to start out as a hunt for Byfield or Kaprizov...they’ll save someone that jumps out early for update just to annoy everyone. |

I pulled a Bowen Byram no foil card last night from a blaster. Not especially valuable but pretty neat.

Target uses a flat square RFID tag, Walmart's is the one with the strip. Mine set off the alarm too.

So I purchased a case back on release day through my LCS and debated opening it after reading all the comments about the issues with the corners on the Young Guns. My LCS received the case from Southern Hobby Supply. I decided to open the case this past week with my son on his winter break and my time off work. The condition of the corners on all of the Young Guns was fantastic. None of the corners were rounded, but in a couple of boxes the Young Guns were really off-centered on the back. I'll be submitting those to Upper Deck for replacements. As for the collation it was excellent. I received no duplicates of any inserts and received all the Young Guns. I'll post all of the hits with pictures in the box/case breaks section.

Do you guys feel the chances of YGs are improved by going with Fat Packs, Tins, Mega, Hobby etc?

Hobby is 50% inflated because of the chance at pulling clear/french/exclusive/hi-gloss...but you knew that already. |

Everyone’s mileage is obviously different...I have a 10 yr old nephew that’s way into it. I get him the 10 pack retail blasters or whatever they’re called on gift-ey occasions, and i *usually* have a retail box handy to give out a pack or two at a time as like a little “attaboy” allowance for when i find out he gets A’s on tests at school, or he walked down the lane and cleaned up leaves for his grandma...good sportsmanship at his hockey or baseball games...that kinda stuff. He likes opening packs more than hunting any one card - although he knows about the Lafreniere this year for sure...and then every so often we’ll sit down and sort his stack to set-build.

48 YGs are 1:4 packs =192 packs= 8 boxes of hobby or retail; 20 Megas/Tins; 24 Blasters; average across the entire print run. Not as much fun as pulling one from a pack but chances are you'll save enough money to buy a fun box anyway. It's been said that even sealed cases don't guarantee a Laffy. Does anyone in here also collect Basketball? I purchased some 2019-2020 Hoops Premium earlier this week and am unsure if they will ship or not. If Target does ship I might be willing to trade a box for a Lafreniere if anybody is interested

I've seen Fat Packs, Tins, Blasters, Megas at Walmart & Target but I haven't seen any Retail boxes. Are those sold at different outlets or just one of those things where some MJH etc distributors stock & some don't?

I finally read some of this thread and now realize why the corners on some of my YGs are not great. I just assumed it was from the crappy fat packs and blaster boxes or the way they were handled.
I have a Byram and Robertson that look like they were cut with rounded corners. Also pulled a Krebs the same day that has fantastic corners. Most of the lesser YGs I've pulled have rounded corners too. Not really sure I feel like seeing if UD will do anything about them. But I guess if they are getting replaced? |
