Judge makes diving catch as Yankees win 4-3, close within 2 games of AL East-leading Blue Jays

https://www.espn.com/mlb/recap/_/gameId/401697051

Great day for me. Not so much for my son.

The ceremony for CC making the Hall of Fame was nice. They brought out his wife and kids first. Then Andy Pettitte drove CC in on a golf cart from center field. They had an awesome tribute video on the big screen for him. After reading his plaque and getting a check for his foundation, he bounced the first pitch of the game. Then Pettitte drove him and his family back off the field.

I took a ton of photos. Need to get them posted sometime this week and will post a few here.

Got to the garage at noon and walked as fast as we could to get in line since the gates opened at 12:05.

Got our CC Sabathia Hall of Fame plaque. Went to the team store and bout a new Yankees hat with the 9-11 Remembrance Patch. We got into line for Monument Park, but we were going nowhere and we were both hungry so we went and got food. Rain stopped after we ate. Seats were awesome. 4th row up after the Legends Suite seats and just past third base.

We never made it to the museum. I don't even know where it is. It would have been nice to see it and get a photo next to CC's Hall of Fame plaque.
Sounds like a great time and you got to see a win. I haven’t been to the newest stadium and I love the Yankees but I have no desire to visit New York.

That was a game saving play and I agree with your earlier post although Judge can’t throw too good right now I would rather him in right as Stanton would’ve never caught that one.

That no hit game was crazy. I know they don’t want to risk injury to Yamamoto but at that point I give him at least one more batter. Pages made a poor effort on the home run as he just didn’t seem to think he had a chance.

Sounds true. How many stolen bases would’ve been overturned is the one I think of.

Yeah my son was bummed Bichette wasn't playing and he had his jersey on.
I was watching on tv and saw Judge relaying signs with his arms. Either way you still have to hit the ball, we never hear much about guys that get a sign and swing and miss. I give Toronto’s manager credit for saying his team needed to clean things up if other teams can figure out their pitches.

Maybe he is taking this approach so as not to give much information to the pitchers he will face in the playoffs but he hasn’t been the real Judge for over 2 months.

Nice to have an off day today. The games have been very stressful watches but taking 4 of 6 from the Astros and Bluejays made it worthwhile. Now they need to at least go 3-3 against Detroit and Boston to get through that rough stretch 7-5 which would be better than most of us expected.

There's too much to do in the new stadium with only being let in 90 minutes before game time. I think it was announced there were 43,000 in attendance too. Like I said, I wanted him to see Monument Park, but the line wasn't moving. I would have liked to go to the museum, but I'm sure that line was long. I never found the Lobel's either to get a steak sandwich and looking at the map afterwards, it was on the opposite side of the stadium from our section. You need to go multiple times to teams no one cares about to see everything.

I thought for sure when Devin Williams came in, he was going to blow the game. Funny, because my son said the same thing about Hoffman coming in because he hasn't been good lately.

The museum isn't that bad. I really hate the new monument park, its very cold compared to how they set it up in the old stadium. I had the steak sandwhich, its good, but not out of this world and its insanely expensive.

That's what I was wondering. When we watched a YouTube video on it my thought was $40 or is it worse than that?

I'm looking at tickets to the Sunday Orioles game now for the three of us here at Camden Yards. I just hate how high their netting is. Yankee Stadium was low and didn't ruin the view as much as the one at Camden Yards does.

Hmmm, I got mine in the upper deck and I don't recall it being 40 so maybe it wasn't "the" one. I will say when it opened, the food was way worse than Citi, but I think Yankee stadium now has better options. You really should have gone to the Halal guys.

It looks like they have two locations in the Stadium.

Lobel's Carving Stations, located near sections 134 and 321.
I found a review online for the sandwich from last year that said it was $25. Not bad if it's as good as they claim it is.

Nice little trick for food at the stadium if you also belong to costco. Get the ubereats $100 gift card for $80 and order from the vendors accepting ubereats. No fees and no line.

Yeah, we had a ubereats flyer in my cup holder when we sat down. If my son got hungry later in the game, I was going to utilize that so we didn't have to miss any action.

If we go to a game next year, I think I'm going to try for the same seats. They were fantastic. The padded cushion certainly felt nicer sitting on than the old Yankee Stadium chair I have in my basement.

I was nervous BEFORE the game because I knew it was "Williams-Doval" day. Thankfully Fried went 7 so we were spared Doval.
