By most every account, Dalton and Foles are likable people. But Justin just wanted to play his game, his way, and didn't care what anyone else had to say about him. Even though they were just trying to help. Nate Petermen is not on the Bears. They brought in Brett Rypien, who knows new OC Shane Waldron's scheme to help the others. Tyson Bagent, who did well in the reserve role last season. Is QB2 |

Reversing the lens, seems like Jordan Love is doing just fine when his "mentor" Rodgers was ignoring him and Love only having 2nd year "veteran" Sean Clifford (who Packer fans say was a reach lol*) and 2024 rookie QB Michael Pratt to learn from. The OC and QB Coach made more of an impact which I would expect from any team. Backup QB vets are a nice to have but aren't the reason a young QB fails or succeeds. *5th rounders aren't reaches. If a team's draft success depends on getting the 5th round right then fire your front office. |

People are expecting way to much out of Williams those stats he probably is a top 5 passer right away. I think good season for Williams right away is 3200-3500 yards 23-25 TDs 12-15 INTs

I'd take the under all day.
This was my February prediction: Quote:
Detroit Lions 10-7 Green Bay Packers 9-8 Chicago Bears 8-9 Minnesota Vikings 5-12 (sorry Goldy ![]() I may revise it once more during preseason depending on injuries otherwise I feel pretty good about this. |

Rodgers got to sit under Favre. Rodgers was also the 24th pick in the draft, and one with (even at the time) a very weak QB draft class. Him sitting behind a known future HOFer was expected by all. He wasnt coming out to outplay Favre as the starter. He was supposed to sit and cook. Ditto Love sitting behind Rodgers. Love was the 4th QB taken. He was never meant to take over the team his 1st year. Just like Rodgers being the long play for when Favre was gone. That was Love's role. It worked out great for both of them! But all of the QB's taken in those sames drafts, in the top 10, were pretty much day 1 starters for their teams. Alex Smith, Herbert, Tua & Burrow. If the Bears pay up for a decent starting Vet QB, and have Caleb sit and learn for 2-3 years. That is 2-3 years of not taking advantage of a rookie QB, on a crazy cheap deal, that allows you to spend on other players Last edited by Grid; 05-14-2024 at 12:21 PM. |

Favre = HOF QB. GB = Good Team. That is why Rodgers was drafted so late, as GB was already winning. They could afford to let him cook. Rodgers = HOF QB. GB = Good Team. That is why Love was drafted so late, as GB was already winning. They could afford to let him cook. You tossed Mahomes out there. So... Alex Smith = good QB. KC was a winner (12-4 the season before Mahomes). KC traded up from 27th to get Mahomes. 2017 KC won their division, had home field in the playoff. They could afford to let Pat cook. 49ers before Alex Smith, did not have a good team or QB to sit behind. They were 2-14, which is why they picked #1. Chargers were 5-11, Rivers on his way out of the league. Herbert had to start. Bengals 2-14, Dalton was horrible. Burrow had to start. Dolphins were 5-11, Fitzpatrick not good. Tua had to start. You are trying to make it seem like these teams that draft top 10, have HOF QB's that know the system and are playing winning football. Thats not how it works. Well, not without something weird happening. You pick a QB that high, because you desperately need a QB. And if you think its best to go out and hire a good pricey Vet, to then pick high and cook a QB. You should be the GM of the Falcons. |
