Sano got $30 per a few years ago to do chromes. Rosario got $10 per. DJ Baxendale had to sign 3,000 stickers to be part of the Topps, team USA team.

Your LCS is making stuff up. Trout has an exclusive autograph deal with a company, any negotiations for signings would go through them, and they aren't anywhere near that range right now.

I remember hearing at the Great Lake Loons stadium that Pratt Maynard when asked how much he got said, "enough to buy a car."

I'll assume that's about $20K for probably ~2k cards. So about $10 per card which seems reasonable.

Either way, not bad money for signing your name.

Mickey Mantle 1958 Topps Contract
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1958-Topps-C...-/110436083745
A truly unique document released from the Topps archives over a decade ago. This is the actual contract extension signed by the 26-year-old superstar, giving Topps the right to produce baseball cards with The Mick's image in 1959. The standard one-page contract extension is written on Topps Chewing Gum stationery , and is dated Oct. 1, 1958. It basically states that Mickey Mantle and Topps agree to extend their original agreement dated April 1, 1957, and that all the same terms and conditions apply (meaning, he probably got five dollars and a toaster!). Signed boldly in blue ballpoint pen by Mickey Mantle, accepted by Topps executive Sy Berger, and witnessed by Mickey's agent, Frank Scott. The contract is in excellent condition, with standard letter folds and a corner staple-hole. Accompanied by a letter from Guernsey's, the auctioneers who originally sold the Topps archive. An important document linking the King of Baseball Cards to the manufacturer of his most prominent trading card pieces.

i seriously doubt he gets paid this much.

any idea how much premier players like Trout, Ohtani, Soto, Acuna, Tatis get paid per auto?

The players sign contracts. Not sure the exact cost in 2021, but they contract for a set number of signatures.

For reference, Derrick rose was getting $25 a signature from Topps until they lost the license in 2008-2009. https://www.sportscollectorsdaily.co...er-autographs/

They get a lot. But Topps gets less autos from them as a result. Topps was selling project 70 autos of trout and otahni from $400-3000 this week.

The union has nothing to do with autos. All they organize is the licensing of the cards themselves. And the players split that revenue.

David Ross, a career backup catcher, just did a signing at $99 an item so trout seems low, but his people probably know he's been the most accessible superstar for awhile and his auto is easily forged.

Bryant signed the largest card auto contract ever w/topps the day after the cubs won the ws. There will always be a demand for cubs stuff but the saturation level w/him in particular is something to watch for unless it's a unique item or has his old school smiley face auto w/it.

oh well. How many tens of thousands are already in circulation? Not like any of these autos have real scarcity
