.205 hitting Jo Adell. There's no one in this RC class that really moves the needle. You have to stash these guys away and hope they pop in a year or so.

exactly. combine that with $30 a pop for blasters and i’ll be buying them 1-2 at a time instead of 8-10 like i did last year.

I was going to say you're looking for a bunch of guys to put in a box and pull out as they get hot over the years. This is going to be a fun offseason for me. Reminds me of 2018-2019 when I went after Verdugo, Andjuar, and Robles...oh yeah, and Devers.

THe market for 1st Chrome Auto is up over 3x since then. Flagship products and wax have typically followed (or lead, I'm not sure which is the chicken and which is the egg) the BCA.

I think you might be overestimating the cooldown. I'd say market hit bottom in late June and has been noticeably rising since mid July. Somebody should go talk to football and basketball and see how their markets are behaving.

I've watched 5 Jumbo CASE breaks and have seen ONE named auto of a decent player (Pache) and it was a base. Not a single other RC auto worth mentioning at all. This first wave is HORRIBLE. In 5 cases the two best cards were a Tatis variation /99 and a Judge variation = for what $15,000-20,000 ��

Then I looked at the names.

I've watched a bunch of breaks and also opened a hobby box (at wayyy less than going rate) and this product is hot trash. $500 jumbos giving you 4 relievers and a utility player who is in triple-a for autos...

Scrolling through all of the listings on the bay. Cards with NO market (combine biggest checklist AND fewest big names ever) and sellers trying to recoup costs by listing (because hey, it's gold! or it's orange! or it's red!) for ridiculously high prices that NO ONE is going to pay. This might go down as the biggest money-losing Topps product of all time for those who rip.

It's interesting....last year I don't remember it being quite like this. I bought 10 red refractor autos (all different players) - soon after release - for 35-100 each.

The price has to be $30/blaster, otherwise they would be cleared out by all the flippers and collectors wouldn't even get to decide how terrible they are

Just an FYI..Factory cost per blaster is $15.99 (for Topps direct accounts).

I bought 3 blasters that I hand picked at random from an opened case. Pulled two autos, one green #’d/99 (rookie pitcher for the Reds) and one base refractor #’d/499 (rookie pitcher for the Yankees).

I’m not planning to open Hobby or Jumbo which is why I got the 3 blasters.

There will be a 2022 topps chrome. It seems like a lot people started collecting in 2018/2019 and don't realize that rookie classes are not consistent in quality. The last few years were outliers.

Prices are high now because people continue to participate in breaks for this “cheap” product - less than $20/team for a jumbo box.

They don’t care about the bad breaks. Same price as going to a theater to watch a bad movie - and leaving the theater with nothing in hand.

At least breaker dude gets to leave with a Jessie winker base card and a Joey Votto refractor for $20.

I was at the LCS yesterday and there were a few of us going through a jumbo box pack by pack. I had bought a couple packs and they had bought some others and 4 of the 5 autos had been pulled with about 5 packs left in the box. I had decided it wasn't worth spending the money for another potential rookie relief pitcher with a 9.73 ERA. The other guy asks if I'm sure and pulls one more pack out. Mike Trout Prismic Power Auto /99. The pain and jealousy is very real...

I was shopping for breaks on EBay because these are beautiful cards but I’m not even interested in bidding after looking at things. There isn’t a single rookie I want to gamble on.

I just did the math on a hobby case break that just ended. The prices ended around $3500 which is just less than $300/box.

There also aren’t many breaks posted on Ebay.

Again, Series 2 hobby is down from $130 to $80. I think the same thing happens here and the prices fall to $225 or less.
