How would I know what Topps does? I don't work for them. I just can't see 1 in 20 as being a realistic number. If you talk about Hobby there are 320 autos in that many cases (roughly). If there are 40 prospects and 12 RC's. That means you should expect roughly 6 of everyone. Even if it is SP 1:6 is a crazy high number IMO.

Then you talk about hobby and there are 600 auto's. That means 12 of each. Do the math. It's crazy.

I think I counted 40 hobby cases being group broken on here..I have 3 coming. So let's see how the #'s start to work out. Id bet, that if he is a prospect rookie, it will be more than 1 per 20 cases.

I think you're wrong here. Buxton and Correa were top draft picks but I guarantee they don't charge Topps anywhere near as much per auto as Puig does.

In late June, Puig did a signing at the Frank and Son's show in CA and his autos STARTED at $149. I'm not saying Topps pays anywhere near that amount but I can assure you that Puig and his agent know what his auto is worth and know what a draw it is to have it in a product.

It is SP'd for that reason. They can pay a bunch of prospects less than $1 each for autos and sprinkle in a few Puigs. No reason to pay Puig for a full 2500 card prospect auto run.

Not saying its a 2500 card run, I am agreeing it will be SP. If there are 1750 base autos...say they cut that in 1/3 and leave just under 600 that is still looking at 1350 total auto's.

If there are LESS base than refractor that would be quite interesting to see how the value works out.

You have to throw away the color rainbow you know. A Puig SP prospect auto will not include refractors, blues ... and likely a much more limited run of the higher color.

Gold /20, Orange /10, Red /5, Superfractor /1. That is all of the color I expect if he has a prospect auto, and if it's a RC auto, you might throw in Blues /50. Absolutely no refractors. Forget it.

Puig without a doubt is carrying this product, without him it is absolutely a no buy for anyone. But he's not gonna be in there much.

Well that's 100% guaranteed. There is just absolutely no chance Puig has a normal set of prospect autos.

I agree with you Chap that they will exclude some color from Puig but there is no way that they change the numbering just for him. I hope they keep the blue refractors just because I think they would look great with the Dodger uni.

They have done it for others though. Nolin and Head had Gold autos /20 last year.

That's where I'm basing this opinion from.

i would concur that puig is going to be both severely short printed and also think it is quite likely that he will have less (definitely no refractors and likely no blue ref) or lower numbered color

Gattis, Profar, Myers as RC auto's so far...That's a nice group. Would be a shame to waste Puig on a RC auto when you could give him a prospect auto now and a RC auto in Bowman 14.

i think topps didn't give strasburg any prospect auto in 2010 too.
