Some observations:
Boxes sold out at DACardworld at $375 and sit on ebay at $425.
Singles prices are trending down unless you're Vladimir Jr or Mookie Betts. Lux being higher than Kyle Lewis is nuts. People still love Aaron Judge.Golds are selling less than silvers but I think its been that way since the beginning. Grading doesn't seem to get better value unless you're Lux. PWCC gets the better prices.

Also not an auction but a silver trout psa 10 sold for $1500 - I know because it’s in transit to my house!

I also picked up the throwback 95 refractor /25 can’t wait to get the picture of both trout finest throwbacks together!

Shocked on the Trout auction, though those others seem reasonably strong.

Congrats! I take it the '95 is from the 2015 Finest set? I've been grabbing random cards from those Finest releases. A lot are very underrated.

I am shocked about the Golds selling for less than $700. Those should be at minimum $850. Otherwise, Gavin Lux is the other shocker. I know Topps Chrome Sapphire is the #1 rookie card but the photo selections look so much better for almost all the rookies. Long term these will be great.

There are the Trout Autos I Picked up:

Red Refractor Auto - Purchased Raw for $6,700. Grade came back BGS 9.5 with 9 Auto

Green Refractor Auto - Purchased for $1,275. Already was graded BGS 9.5 with 10 Auto (only Flashback Trout Auto to have a 10 thus far). This one in my opinion was a steal at the price.

On the surface it looks as if I overpaid for the Red Trout, but I think the value will come back

You got it! They are really sweet! The 2015 - 95 refractor came in today once the flashbacks gets here I’ll post a picture of them together. I love that Topps has included throwbacks to the 90s in their releases.

Must've been a mechanical error. Nice, those aren't easy.

Those are both awesome pickups - even if you “overpaid” for the red it’s not like they are going to constantly come up for sale and red is the angels colors so I’m sure it looks amazing. In a few years it will be an absolute steal!

From what I have seen with trout autos in this - a 10 auto should 100% hold a premium and I also agree that you got a steal on that one.

Haha I couldn’t believe it. Just one those that slips through the cracks. Got very lucky, as my max bid was $3K.

Thank you. Yeah the Red Trout Auto is by far my favorite card. Sucks about the Auto getting a 9, but it still presents very well. Up until WiffleBreaks pulled another Red Trout Auto, it was the only one known to be pulled. Great looking card for sure!

Lux value is literally down in every other set all the way to bowman 1st. Nobody knows if he's going to be traded or even allowed to compete for a starting position. It's impossible to be confident in his hobby value right now. If he plays a bench role and flounders or gets traded to a small market, his cards are pretty much done. I think you can assume that card price is an abberation. I collect Lux, and hope for the best, but just saying.

Also, that trout gold 9.5 was a buy it now. I think a lot of people would have nabbed it at that price. It's probably not an accurate gauge if a psa 9 did about the same. Again, small sample size.

There is a seller on eBay that sent the Grisham Super to PSA that received a 9 and unhappy with that, sent to to BGS where it received a BGS 9.5. In general, I think they are pretty close grade wise. QC was really good on these cards so there isn't much separating a PSA 9 from a BGS Gem.

A bgs 9.5 may be a hot pile of garbage for consistent grading, but it still consistently outsells a psa 9. The typical collector, would take the "gem" any day.

Agreed, I would. There is big difference just saying "Gem Mint" versus "Mint". I also would've done the same with that PSA 9.

Hahaha - I just got the Flashback PSA in today and now that I have them both in hand its driving me crazy too - BGS might need to be cracked out. I just cracked my Lebron Topps Chrome this morning so this won't be as nerve racking as that was at least haha.

I also cracked a Trae Young Red Phoenix /149 from an SGC case simply because I had the Crusade Red and the Optichrome Red in PSA 9 and I wanted them all to be the same.

I posted a few days ago speculating why my Trout refractor received a surface grade of 2, wondering whether I was blind or it was damaged in the mail. Turns out that I was--and continue to be--blind. I am newly returned to the hobby, so can you help me understand this surface grade? There are some dimples on the front of the card, but I thought this was part of the design? If it really is this bad, is this a situation where it would make sense to try to send it back to Topps?

Take a bright light like your phone LED and tilt the card's surface to see if there are any wrinkles. No way a few dimples would warrant a 2 surface unless they protrude to the back of the card. There is always something. You would be surprised.

Always call Topps to confirm they have a replacement before sending anything if you go that route. The card PR is only 50 so it's quite possible they held none back.

Oh wow--the LED worked like a charm. I'd been staring and staring and staring at this thing but there with the LED, it showed up plain as day. Bummer! And--thank you!

Yep. Easy to miss if you've never been burnt before. This was a common issue with 2019 sapphire for vlad.

I would definitely keep it in the bgs slab and call Topps. The grade actually helps you in this case to negotiate a respectable card. Goodluck!

Ouch man, that's tough. Definitely recommend calling Topps quickly if you haven't already. Good luck and thank for sharing.

https://www.blowoutforums.com/showth...e#post16566441

I bought a PSA-4 Vlad that had a crease on the back. Cracked it out, sent it to topps, and got a replacement that graded PSA-10.

That Trout is new enough that they should be able to replace it, just hope they have refractors in stock.

Good luck!

Have about 30 auctions of base refractors ending tomorrow if anyone needs any. Just a heads up.
