Saw this Giannis pop up and literally almost hit the BIN and then immediately saw who the seller was and realized it is probably trimmed. Giannis gold pop 1 - yeah, gonna be trimmed.

Graded on March 29, so a full month after the SSI trimming scandal first broke and Beckett was inundated with tweets warning them about Mr. Sliheet and friends.

Wonder if he's still in their offices every day as he once was?

Has Beckett given any kind of response?

I saw that PWCC will be in Dallas this weekend for the Dallas Card Show, so I guess SSI can drop off their trimmed consignments in person.

I updated this thread with some other ID's linked to this account that I didn't see mentioned anywhere...

https://www.blowoutforums.com/showth...hlight=sliheet

This buyer now has remorse over buying $450 worth of DeGrom cards from me 2 weeks ago on account buyalldayandnight. I received a return request this morning through ebay.

Here are some more account names / selling names linked to this user based on transactions with me. I am pretty sure I have blocked some of these so now I will have to fight with ebay even though it appears there is nothing I can do.

Ebay ID buyalldayandnight - Superior Sports Inv / Bill Sliheet

Ebay ID rookieparade - Also trades under Superior Sports Investments name. Doesn't look to be a valid ID anymore so probably changed.

Ebay ID number1_49erfan - Goes as Mansfield SportsCards / Bill Sliheet / Kristopher King on various transactions with me. This appears to still be a valid ID.

I want to comment that I did not see this thread right away because of where
it was but did get lucky to see it before I almost bought a 1992 Beam Team
PSA 10 Shaq rookie.

I was there, aside from the people we already knew were going to be there really nothing new to report it was mostly vintage.

Yikes!

"A couple of side notes. One of the major hobby message boards brought up numerous issues about various DFW area hobby personages. One of them was tangentially accused of being able to improve cards being sent to graded companies by average collectors. The thing was, the weekend before that broke, he showed me a purchase he had made from PWCC of a SGC 98 (Gem Mt) with the hopes of having a successful cross-over to either BGS or PSA in a similar grade. In his opinion, one look at the card showed such a result would not be possible. However, since the story broke on that message board, he’s actually received more cards than he had ever gotten in a previous month and his business is booming to levels he had not even dreamed of. That’s correct, the law of unintended consequences from those posters is helping his business grow to new heights. Why is that? Well, collectors now think if they send him cards, he can turn their cards into higher grades so they make more of a profit. Yep, everyone wants a piece of the greed action."

It just showed how much integrity the sellers have

I don't think Rich Klein will write a real story on trimming because it would force him to expose friends and former colleagues in the hobby he has likely known for years if not decades. I'll call it now: SSI's grading business increasing as a result of this scandal is Fake News. This is bad reporting.

But SSI is a ripple compared to the tsunami that is coming. Stay tuned.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-06-upp...EAAOSwRjVdE4T5
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-06-upp...sAAOSwo61cZEa7

So both of these Crosby YGs were sold by SSI for $1400 and $1300 respectively.
Don't they both look much shorter than a a regular card in the PSA holder?
Would you conclude these to be trimmed?
I would.

Don't think UD made mini Crosby YG RCs, so yes, I agree.

There is a guy on Net54 that uses rookieparade.
His name is Greg from Long Island.
Is he connected to SSI?

Very highly unlikely bordering on impossible if the given info is true.

I appreciate the diligent work by superdan49 and others in this thread. This will make me much more cautious about the hobby. I am still digesting everything. I think it's noble to warn potential buyers about the trimming problem that is pervasive in the hobby to put it mildly.
