I would much rather have this dual logoman.

To each their own though.

I agree.

Mantle has little meaning in my collection.

My KB24 would never take anything by force.

27guy said Ken's desperately trying to recruit Turki Al-Sheikh into the space. But he apparently has far more interest in the real MJ to drop peasant funds on some random bald dude..

So we have the usual suspect Pitbull. And Mr. Wonderful who might not own another sports card.

Oleary didnt enter the card market as an investment. He is using it as marketing to promote his real business venture in Secure which is private lending/financing. Theyre basically the bank for the card market secured against other assets.

Real question is would he have gone splits for this card if they didnt start up secure? If so, why hasnt he bought a massive card until now timing it with the purchase of the lebron /23 and this logoman?

Of course he thinks its an asset class. He has skin in the financing game for it!!

Default Jordan and Kobe 1/1 dual auto dual logoman

CNBC confirms Kevin O’Leary aka Mr. Wonderful bought the card.

Edit: I’m late to the party and he went in on it with two others (Matt Allen, Paul Warshaw).

Here's the CNBC vid. O'Leary apparently only got into cards a few years ago.

I say on the balance, bad if too depended on. In other words, if you are a country that relies on megaprojects from whatever source for economic growth, your environment is gonna get degraded and your ordinary people will witness an 80 percent decrease in GNH over a decade.

So in the case of what I saw on my walk to work that instigated this, why not instead of a dirty big leaf blower, have a team of people that use brooms to enjoy a day of sweeping, as weather permits.

1) Employs more.
2) Spreads the wealth without relying on the establishment authority funder as much.
3) Avoids heavy pollution, intrusive noise, and degradation of environment.
4) Makes the hobby more fun.

How do we move toward such a model? Respect the breakers and the grail dream, but limit the lottery/high stakes poker bet element. Of course there will still be degenerates in Bobby's Room trading Rahim PMG for flags, but what you gonna do?
Mr. Wonderful needs to spend exactly $1 million, no more and no less, on an Aaron Nesmith logoman RPA

God help us.

Publicity is always good for the hobby. In the short term, new money will enter the hobby and inflate prices (this is when you sell).

As their interests deteriorate, prices correct, and you buy.

BUT we may have a new strategy at play here. Notice how he stated in his interview that he is creating an Index?

He, along with Fanatics, as well as other “big players” are not going to let the “market” (on high end) fall. He stated that high end cards are relatively recession proof. That’s a key indicator.

This is obviously not good for us little guys as prices go up, and we pay more for what we love.

Patience is key, do more research on potential winners, collect what you love, and enjoy this hobby as you may have for years now.

You cannot put a cap on what someone else is willing to pay

Mega rich people love having things that their other mega rich friends can't have. That keeps the market for ultra high end luxury items pretty stable. If you have something so rare that rich people will fight over it, you're good. If you have a stack of base PSA 10s, not so much.

And therein lies the fun of the “chase”, and a side of this hobby that is “addicting”.

Can you make the right call at the right time!

Buttcoin doomer turned crypto evangelist grifting his way into the inner circle of the sneakercon Off-White consortium. That little obnoxious russian dude must be down bad since Vee Friends inventory got liquidated to Uganda.

The changing of the guard was inevitable.
