On a longer time horizon, cards are valued based on total career contributions and HOF likelihood.

Starting a career at 25 does not help either of those factors.

There was a buy it now, blue auto, in the $500’s at the same time that one ended, but guess FOMO is strong. These prices are insane IMO.

You can get 5-6 gold foil clayton kershaw topps update rookies for 1075

Gotta assume the people buying for this price hope he wins WS mvp and then flip him asap. I don't see him being a long term hold.

Imagine Luis Robert performing like Arozarena has and the White Sox being in the WS. Luis Robert sapphires would be $1500.

He’s old !!!!!!!!! A great grandpa having a great post season. If he was 22 or younger, I’d be buying the Sapphires right now instead of typing this sentence

What an amazing Postseason run, for Randy.
I wonder if we will ever see another player match the numbers he put up, this year?
Would have been cool if a couple of more Rays bats would have showed up, last night.

I have been sitting on the fence since the HR barrage started. I kept thinking...this can't be sustainable. And, he has done it much to my disbelief. Broke the HR record for a single post season held by Barry Bonds (which was 8) but the Cuban Missile did it in more games, FWIW. Impressive slash line as well to boot.

Even though the season is over, I bet we see a Rotoworld headline next week that says Arozarena hits HR at Kroger buying beef. LOL

I made some notes in my collecting binder (that I just started this season) about this entire event so that I can look back 3 years from now and know if I missed on a guy that starts to pop on the HOF Monitor on Baseball Reference or dodged a missile...(A Cuban Missile at that). Nobody probably cares, but the binder will seek to collect learnings about baseball and the hobby and I am building a 10 Commandments of Collecting to keep my focus clear and not to stray from my portfolio strategy of my collection. I am up to 6 right now.

Thosebackpages (on his youtube videos) has said "Don't let the price or prices determine what you collect". That is commandment number 6 on my list. But, I did buy a single Bowman Chrome RC at a card show on Sunday in a $1 bin to have something to look at and remember this time in the hobby. #Alwayslearning, right Thosebackpages?

But, here is something from Fangraphs that is worth a read. What amazes me is that the Dodgers still threw this guy fastballs and I guess they didn't care cause one guy can't win a series in baseball.
