Huge mistake not getting surgery, from experience.

Agreed. It will happen again and get worse with time. Been through it.

I’m guessing they’re hoping he can play the season out, and if they fall out of contention or he re aggravates it they’ll do it. He will probably have it regardless in the offseason

I guess I'm most surprised by the number of guys on this board who were one injury away from also making half a billion dollars. I can only jump to that conclusion since they did when comparing their bodies to Tatis

It's replies like this that make me

Career not over... shoulder injuries are not fun. as a SS... a simple dive can cause issues once he returns. A swing too. Just because he returns next weekend doesnt mean he is totally healed.

Pretty sure my shoulder ligament is the same as Tatis but I’m no doctor.

He should probably go ahead and get it fixed now, rather than later. May be making a mistake if they don't.

This is an RGIII level of stupidity to try and play through this. No chance he doesn't reaggrevate it and serious risk of bone and cartilage damage when he does.

Padres trying to save face after signing him to a monster contract - he will get hurt again unfortunately just because of their stupid pride.

Lets say he rehabs it and plays the rest of the season without issue (probably unlikely since he already had the should cause discomfort in spring training and now this), even if he gets surgery at the end of the year, he wouldn't be ready until about May next year assuming a 6 month recovery.

It’s not like not having it now means he can’t ever do it.

I imagine that surgery is already penciled in during the offseason regardless. If he can rest it up enough to play 100-120 and help the club great. If not and he re-aggravates he’s going to get the surgery and he will be on the IL till spring regardless.

The concern is whether Preller n Co can manage a player. They need to rest him, make him take an extra day a week, and not rush it back. Have a productive season and help the team win. Then get healthy, and if that means surgery then do so.

And don't forget about next years strike/lockout. He may not see action until 2023 or later.

Unless he’s healthy enough to play and SDP is in the World Series, at 6 months an early October surgery would be April.

Only 2 Tatis sales today on myslabs. Guess the prices haven’t hit acceptable firesale levels yet.

There's so much money at stake, I still think they come to an agreement.

gonna disagree here... sorry you don’t get to buy someone’s card at a discount due to injury but if the owner decides he’d rather hold than sell at a discount i’m fine with it.
