Looks like Billy Eppler to be the new GM. I like it. Too many people hating on it on social media. Now let's hire a manager and build a championship team.

He's got to have a chip on his shoulder, being the 21st choice for GM.

Not a terrible flyer to take for the Mets, but we'll see. No one decent is taking a job until Alderson & son are gone.

Whoa hold up, I didnt remove my name from the running. Also, sandy ain't the problem it's the owner. The league let him buy the team but they're not going to make his life easy and it's pretty clear hes not part of their club.

Cohen is the Mark Cuban mold of owner.

Owners will/do hate him because he's an outsider, he's brash, he's a huge fan and he's absolutely loaded.

Once the agents see inside his wallet, the owners will hate him even more.

Everyone already knows what's in his wallet, it's time for him to prove he's going to open it.

When you can get the guy that cant even field a winning team with Trout, you got to do it.

Makes sense. Angels are west coast Mets.

Noah to the Angels 21M for 1 year, is that an Angels move or a Mets move?

The one-year deal is so bizarre and I don't think it looks good for the Mets or the Angels.

For the Mets, clearly Syndergaard wanted out of the dysfunction.

For the Angels, you're giving up a compensation pick on a guy you signed for only a year.

I think Syndergaard going to LA actually works out great for the Mets. Get an extra draft pick. Lose a guy who has a huge injury history. Save yourself 19 million dollars. Have to sign a free agent pitcher to replace him though. I'd like to see them target Rodon, or Gausman. I'd be ok with desclafani. Get one of them and you've probably got yourself a more stable rotation than if you had kept syndergaard.

Also gives them the flexibility to sign a QO guy and balancing out the draft picks.

Yeah but will they sign the person they draft?

How do we feel about bringing in Clint Frazier as a 5th OFer? Or bringing back Billy McKinney for the same position? Both DA'd yesterday.

I got to see a lot of Frazier when he was playing here for Lynchburg. That power is legit and if healthy he can rake. I'd love to see the Mets snag him. I guess the Yankees get 10 days to try to trade him.

Mets sign Eduardo Escobar to a 2 year deal. I like that signing. Makes sense. Gives us a bridge to Baty/Vientos. Guy can play 3B/2B/1B so has some versatility.

Thank you Mets for taking some heavy hitters out of the Oakland lineup.

What do you think we do with Cano this year (and next)?

He and Syndergaard seemed like the easiest solution to just chase bats. The front office mess didn't help things

Who knows what Degrom will be in 2022, so having too many arms is a good thing.

I know we need arms, but what does the starting rotation currently look like? deGrom, Walker, Carrasco, Megill, Peterson? Robbie Ray would fit in perfectly after deGrom. I haven’t read any of the rumors so he may not even be available anymore.
