He's 24 and under a fairly team friendly contract. Will become an UFA at age 28.... I don't see this as a bad move for Poole.
It’s great for poole. He can chuck as many shots as he wants now without worrying about fitting in to a team that actually cares about winning.

Very wizards move.

Who would have thought it was a waste of money giving a no defense chucker $100m???

Not a good look.

He was who I thought he is. He can bring his whining right to Washington with him. Looks like Draymond slapped his arse right out of Golden State and rightfully so. Sure he helped on the championship run but in now way was he the Alpha dog and can go around disrespecting Steve Kerr like he did. The dude whined about it all year especially coming off the bench in the playoffs.

I tried telling this forum Poole deserved to be punched at the beginning of the year. He's not about winning, he's about getting his. Draymond did everyone a favor.

The reality is that Poole is not that good of a basketball player.

He has a terrific first step that he can use to get by his primary defender, but that's about it.

- His shooting is pretty average.
- His finishing at the rim is sporadic...if a help defender comes over to contest the shot, he gets swatted or misses the layup.
- He commits too many turnovers
- His defense is mediocre.

The Warriors made a huge a mistake in signing him to a long-term deal.

That they were able to get out from that deal AND get a player like Chris Paul who is good at everything Poole isn't (defending, playmaking, etc.) is a minor miracle.

Paul will fit in perfectly with the Warriors running the second unit....

There are plenty of NBA teams who could use a player like that....

His scoring average is down nearly 5 ppg, yet his fg and 3pt percentages have somehow managed to slide to career lows dating back to his sophomore season.

That's kind of impressive. So now he's chillin' on the chucking a bit, but his value has sunk even lower because now even his die hard supporters are seeing how worthless he is outside of scoring considerations.

As stated before, this guy is a lower IQ T-Ross, that probably won't have as long of a career because he doesn't know how to play a disciplined style of NBA basketball (reckless play only works if you're an mvp caliber guy).

Brutal.

Whilst GS did well to get him off the books. They're also the idiots that paid him.

They also are the idiots that wasted a number 1 pick on Wiseman.

The Wiz will tank nicely though. But man, the culture there is gonna be yuck for a while.

Hopefully Tyus gets out of there soon to a decent team.

Tyus has been awful so far this year. Him and Poole as a starting backcourt is a great way to tank - neither plays any D!

Awful?
LOL. He is what he is. A back up on a quality team. But now he's stuck with a bunch of chuckers and his numbers are the same as last season.

It's pretty clear he needs to run pick and roll with a quality big. Either starting or off the bench.

The Wizards are a mess and now they're stuck with Poole for a long while. It's gonna get real ugly.
