Just started selling on Sportlots (again). Somehow a little company like Sportlots can get my money for the month of February to my Paypal by 1030am on 3/1 on a Sunday. Less than 10 hours with time difference. It takes COMC 4-7 business days to get our own money back to us. Maybe the tech gurus in Redmond need to see what the guys in Green Bay do to get their customers their money in an appropriate time frame.

is there a way to see the total cost of the items being shipped(what comc puts in the box), before shipping them?

well..... hopefully they can get a little competition to improve their fees and service.

I know everyone wants to be like Soethby's and just flip Babe Ruth cut autos all day, but what the vast majority of the collecting base needs is a place to easily move the 1-20 dollar stuff. COMC, at least used to, fit the niche perfectly.

Yes two people. Tim still runs the IT and software side that always breaks and Julia runs the business side that has awful customer service and bad policies. I still am waiting to hear what happened to Geoff, Doug and their buddy Jonathan.

Johnathan is selling enough trimmed cards through PWCC to eat and pay rent. Although, he may be picking up on the vintage again.

oops...forgot my <sarcasm> tags again - my bad. I'm aware of the lop-sided power structure there, but my question was in response to the idea that Tim is actually in charge. I know he still does IT/software (as it was when I was there) but does he have the final say in a lot of the decisions COMC makes? I doubt it.

Yes you can. Just make sure to put the appropriate paperwork in the correct box!

So if I am submitting 150 cards that are various years. I can submit them for $52.50 and have it processed in 3 months (12 weeks) or I could say they are all current year and pay the $5 incorrect paperwork fee and have them processed in 3 weeks for $57.20?

I know this concept isn't new in looking at the old service levels but is this correct?

Nope - they will change the service for you and your due date would likely be 3 months out. I can't remember if they make the new due date retroactive or if they make it from the date they contact you.

I copy and paste each page into a spreadsheet and then have it add them up

I thought so as well but their Restriction says the following:

All cards must be from 2020 single-year, 2019-20 dual-year, or newer products. If any cards are from other products, a Missing/Incorrect Paperwork Fee of $5.00 will be assessed and the entire submission will be processed as 3 Week.

Which makes it sound like you get the $5 fee but they will still process the entire order in 3 weeks.

I'm guessing that's a typo. Unfortunately they have stopped posting here again because we're all a bunch of meanies.

Don't do it that way...they can push your submission back indefinitely and you get no discount.

In the FAQ:

Are the new service times guaranteed?

Yes, items not processed by their due date will receive a 20% discount on their processing fee. Discounts are not changing for items submitted under service levels prior to 3/1/20.

If the paperwork is missing or incorrect (e.g. quantities are off by 20% or Current-Year service contains non-Current-Year cards), these transactions require more time and investigation and will be processed past the due date. No discount will be applied to these items for completing after the assigned due date, due to the incorrect paperwork submission.

Years ago when you could e mail Tim and get a reply. I sent Tim a long list of areas where I though he need to keep an eye on as the company grew. Also some suggestions which they were asking for. Three things that was on the top to get right:

1. Processing: The cost, time frame, and being correct. Too many options will cause problems and confusion.
2. Shipping: The cost, time frame and being correct. Again to many options will cause problems and confusion.
3. Customer service: Has to be very good or issues will happen

My only reply from him was Basely we know what we are doing thanks sure looks like his eyes were on other things.

One comment I would like to make, and correct me if I misunderstand:
Cards I would typically send for the old Select service 2 - week for .60 are now cheaper to process at .50 with 1 added week for lead time. This won't stop me from continuing to use this service.
Neither will a .05 increase for for basic, but 12 week for time (Instead of 8) might make me think twice. Instead of sending cards worth about 1.50 or more, I may just up my standards to 2.50 or more and only use the .50 - 3 week service since it is only .15 more.
My sales have been great, I have not experienced some of the same issues others have experienced, so for me the service COMC provides me still works very well for me, and these service and fee changes are much ado about nothing as far as I am concerned.

I don't know if this was already mentioned, but it also looks like the definition of "current year" is changing with the new service plan. On the submission form, it still includes 2019 as a current year if using the old service. That year is not included in the new service.

One more reason to get your submissions in this week.

Thanks I wasn’t going to do it but thought it was an odd way to word things.

That explains why my brisk sales came to a halt...thanks COMC! Last sale occurred at 7:48 after a day where I've sold nearly 100 cards.
