One card got a 9.5 overall, the rest were mostly between 8 and 9. Incredibly difficult grading. Their scale is much closer to BGS, where a 10 is basically impossible.

I am a very strict grader on cards i send in and have been doing it for a while and helping others grade cards for 20 years +. I have worked at 3 card shops in my life as well so i have a good eye i think.
My last BGS submission of 40 cards had:
19 BGS 10 Pristine, no black labels
20 BGS 9.5 Gem mint
1 BGS 9 that i thought was an 8 when sending it in.

So far my only CSG graded card to pop was just yesterday.
Was a card i thought would grade a 9 and CSG graded it a 9.
I have a 68 card bulk order with them now in grading so i will have more of an opinion on it when i see the grades pop but out of the 68 cards i sent in im expecting 60-62 9.5 or better graded cards.
I only send in cards that i think are perfect and i clean them all very well before sending them in.
So if i get back a bunch of 9s then i would say so myself but ill update when my order pops.

All of my bulks from March/April just got moved from "received" to "scheduled for grading".

My economy from April just moved from "schedule for grading" to "Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging".

Honestly, wasn't expecting either this quickly.

Same here. Seems like they're catching up quickly to the spring orders.

My CC is gonna get hit hard if all those bulks pop at the same time! At least there won't be insane upcharges like PSA I guess.

I just received my 217 card bulk order from my submitter. While I have not gone through the cards for grades yet, we figured out 10 cards were missing. On the positive side it was received on 4/19 and was due today, so they seem to be running on time. What happens when they get to the massive subs that caused the service level spikes, we shall see. But for the early orders, everything appears to be as they projected.

When I go through them, I will post how many of what grade I received.

Of the 207 cards received, 5 had label errors. In all cases they missed parallels/variations. Here are the results (by grade):

CSG 6 - 2 (I missed a corner on both)

CSG 7 - 3 (all 90's basketball)

CSG 7.5 - 5

CSG 8 - 20

CSG 8.5 - 48

CSG 9 - 100

CSG 9.5 - 28

AND 1 CSG 10 Pristine: 2018 Chrome Update Acuna HMT25.

Overall I am happy with the grades. Like the others I previously received, I did not go through these with an electron microscope. The other batch, which I should get back in about a month, I looked at the cards closer and hopefully will not get anything under an 8.5.

Looking forward to seeing your results. Have you done any PSA subs lately? Seems like they are grading extremely hard

Order Type: Regular with subgrades
# of cards: 3
Order received per USPS (if possible): 7/12/21
Order received per CSG: 7/14/21
Scheduled for Grading: 7/14/21
Order popped: TBD

Cards:

2018 Contenders Baker Mayfield Auto
2018 Prizm Baker Mayfield Auto
2018 Donruss Baker Mayfield Silver Press Proof Diecut

Not sure if this is common practice for CSG or all grading companies but I did what I do for PSA. Marked the submission level on the outside of the box. Think this may have lead to my order being opened in a timely manner and not set aside

They really got slammed at the end of March/early April. The word got out about the grading, people had sent off their test submissions, then they were transparent about the price increases and voila...massive influx. I hope they continue the aggressive hiring push. Encouraging to see the Bulk turnaround times drop from 200+ to around 150.

I just noticed that economy is now 91 days.

+ 5 for sub grades, so 96 days.

When did it make the jump? The last time I had a look it was 60 something days.

Great to see the drop in Bulk dates. I am thinking we will see quicker turnaround times, lower pricing, and PSA/BGS returning to normal quicker than people realize. Companies like CSG, HGA, and SGC will continue to see decrease in demand as PSA comes closer to reopening. The big problem I see next year will be that these companies expanded way too fast for future demand. If the hobby pulls back, the pricing of grading will become cheaper than pre-covid prices. The capacity of PSA is approaching 10 million cards being graded in a year. If all the other companies together can reach this number, 2022 will have the capacity of grading 20 million cards per year. I don't see the demand for this personally. 2022 will be an interesting year to see what happens!

But PSA isn’t anywhere close to reopening completely and when they do I find it hard to believe they won’t be charging $100 for regular submissions. Doubt we see bulk orders open up till next 2022.

So this is a mute narrative, no one wants to pay $100-$200 to grade a card unless it’s worth several thousand dollars.

SGC and CSG aren’t going anywhere. HGA on the other hand seems like a fad that is slowly dying.

I used to think PSA wouldn't reopen bulk until 2022 July at $25, but I now think they are making significant progress and will start at the latest in April 2022. They cleared economy already and now are hammering away almost solely on bulk. I think they will do this for the next quarter and will start accepting regular and economy on October 1st. It will be extremely interesting on how PSA's complete through percentages will change the next few months. I think it will be better than what people think.

Update:
My order i sent in end of March that was received by them according to usps on 4/1/2021
Consisted of 1 economy and 68 bulk.
My 1 economy card just came back today my bulk is still scheduled for grading.
When i sent it in i believe economy time was 40 days.
They had it from 4/1/2021 and i got it back in hand on 7/15/2021
about 75 business days + and about 100+ regular days.

Edit:
Here it is in hand literally, looks amazing!

My complete rainbow pictured below is also at cgc in bulk grading right now.

It was nice to see my standard package received in, and scheduled for grading within one day. Off to a good start with CSG.

Same I was impressed with it, I’ll be excited to see how long from grading to grades popping.

Good news. I really regret choosing standard over express. Mine was received 5/10 so should be checked in soon and hopefully progresses right along. Had hoped to have card for National and now won't.
