I saw ZERO WBC cards at the Burbank show today. I'm glad these got into the hands of collectors. I'm also glad there will be no release next year to ruin a good thing.
Still looking for #1 and #10 (Sho , Team Japan) Global Grandeurs to complete my set. Help

Without full transparency, you should always assume that Topps/Fanatics doesn’t pack all the big hits. |

My theory - NPN. They say you have a chance to win any of the cards in the checklist - so they have to have at least one of every type of card available to send, in case an NPN entry "hits" it. Once the NPN entry period ends and they do the drawing, anything that wasn't "hit" can be used for other purposes.
Alternatively, they could hold back one or two in case someone makes a damage replacement request for another of the same type of card, but you'd think they'd at least hold onto it and only use it as a replacement IN THAT SCENARIO. And in the case of a nameplate card, I think we can all agree they should have packed them all out anyway (if they were holding back for THIS reason, rather than the NPN reason), and if someone has a damaged one they just get something else as a replacement. |

Had a handful of cards pop. These are tough grades. Corners and edges on foil are very susceptible. Here were the highlights. Roki definitely offset the 9s.

Looks like they are using the offset team box to check centering, I think that will be throwing some people off. Nice gems though.

Looking at the pop report these definitely look like tough grades.
Zero PSA 10's on the auto relics and base relics. |

I would not grade those. Every single one was warped on the back. Psa 10 auto relics should carry a nice premium

Global Grandeurs have back corner issues. I'm honestly surprised there's a couple 10s in the pop report.

Lucky! I have 8 base and 3 parallels and all of them have the same soft back left bottom corner. Given the print run I'm OK with 9s, still missing the Roki and team card unfortunately.

I have two Roki GG red /5s but cannot find a reasonably priced base. I feel like Ohtani is the same deal. All these hits that weren't packed out are making me wonder if there's a stack of GG Sho/Roki sitting in Mesquite.

These Global Grandeurs are pretty tough pulls at 1 in 81 boxes for any one of the 10 players. I forget how many boxes the total print run was...but even the base run must be pretty low.

Base is a 27 PR according to odds. It's still a tough pull clearly, but the very limited base presence of the best cards (GG 1/2/10) versus red/black leave room for speculation. Or limited sample size, who knows.

Dynasty is going to have ON CARD WBC autos and patches. Topps leaked a picture of the Ohtani one

Yeah I'm pretty hyped to see those. 2023 WBC cards were the highlight of 2023 imo. 2000 World's Finest, 2006 Topps WBC, International Gems, Global Grandeur were all top shelf inserts. Really hope Topps does a good job with the Dynasty set.

Finally got my box of 4 from Topps. Box was all beat up, but the boxes inside look good. Now...rip or hold...
