Amazing they were able to get the licensing rights to original manufacturer card designs, the player photos someone else took, and the use of team names and logos, then slap their own copyright tag on it.

Oh wait, what's that I see on their site:

Oh pardon me. My little rant, how embarrassing.

Completely original.

Completely original.

It would be terrible if someone took their original retro cards and made original poop parallels.

I miss pro set. Like, REAL, 858 card checklist 1990 pro set with 170 rookie cards.

After having just busted two boxes of 1990 Pro Set Series II, I would have to agree with you. The inclusion of so many role players in those sets is part of what made it so awesome.

I've bought maybe 10 or so 89/90/91 Pro Set Boxes over the last few years just for fun and for a shot at a few elusive PSA 10 PC candidates. Its that mix of role players, deep cut draftees and players who ended their career on a random team that I just love. LOVE.

Not sure if 2010 Upper Deck football has been brought up in this thread. Nevertheless, that design was pretty cool. This is the only taste we got.

I wish this existed (and subsequent years, but I digress)

That card is freaking awesome.

Some things that interest me about this QB draft class. Tony Eason would back up Ken O'Brien on the Jets for part of 1989 and 1990. Both Todd Blackledge and O'Brien would later become backups to Bubby Brister (Blackledge in '88-89 with Pittsburgh and O'Brien in '93 with Philadelphia). Gary Kubiak was drafted in the 8th round in 1983 with the rest of these QBs and would backup John Elway in Denver from 1983-1991.

Might have to try my hand at an 89 Upper Deck Troy Aikman.

I made a 1994 Upper Deck of popular Cowboys special teamer Matt Vanderbeek and a few other Cowboys role/bench players from the 90s Super Bowl Era. They aren't great, admittedly I ripped off designs from scans of other cards from the era and put the players' pictures in them. Even had a marketing contact at Upper Deck at that time from being a forum mod and got him to confirm it was OK to do as long as you don't sell. I just wanted them for TTM auto purposes.

Edit: Managed to find a link to these, hopefully this works...

they need more owners/assistants/coaches cards. Buddy Ryan (RIP) autos. Dick Lebeau from the Steelers, Andy Reid. Doug Pederson as a coach would probably do well. Belichick game used hoodies, Matt Nagy/Rich Kotite-just kidding, Ozzie Newsome Ravens stuff. Cowher. etc.

I dig that Upper Deck custom, very cool!

One of my earliest custom card designs was signed by Buddy Ryan. Wish I had some of my more recent recreations like '86 Topps that I could have gotten signed.

Just a pic of him driving his car or sitting in the stands.

I wish they made ud exquisite autos of Tom Brady. Would have been nuts. Limited logos. Scripted swatches. Emblems of endorsements etc.
