A) Let's keep politics out of our friendly Trout Thread!!!

B) As a veteran, one who proudly wore the uniform in defense of your freedom, and that of all Americans... it's seeing BS like this where people twist someone proudly declaring themself a free American as being a "political view". This is the exact crap mindset we need WAAAAAYYYYYY less of in this country!

C) Back to Trout... play ball !!

I respect Trout 100% if he decides not to play. However, it will be a huge black eye for the game if he opts out.

I am 100% with you on this. And remember, he's still taking time off for the birth of his son.

For example I just got back from the grocery store, I saw many people wearing masks, adjusting, using their phone then touching products, putting them back and never once sanitizing in-between.

CDC STATES - Plastics
Examples: milk containers and detergent bottles, subway and bus seats, backpacks, elevator buttons
2 to 3 days

So if you have the coronavirus or you are a-symptomatic you have just contaminated the product you looked at and put down. Since you are wearing a mask you are collecting a large amount of viral load on said mask and then touching your phone and goods and surfaces and happily spreading the coronavirus while claiming I'm wearing a mask and savings lives!

This is just silly, the only way wearing a mask works if you are also following safe sanitizing practices along with it. So just wearing a mask isn't saving lives. Science can tell you that in some areas and some places it may also help spread the virus. If you are following the guidelines 100% then what you are doing is just as bad and possibly worse than the person not wearing a mask. But you know science is hard, looking up facts and information on transmission of viruses and other aspects than just masks alone is also hard. Especially with the internet at everyone's fingertips. Really confuses me when coronavirus cases have spiked right after millions of people protested in large groups probably constantly readjusting their masks leaving openings and not following the proper guidelines and all of a sudden everyone is surprised that with more testing, more failure to follow social distancing rules and failure to properly wear masks and sanitize.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

I've been following this website for awhile and it details cases which includes serious cases and deaths daily. Currently today there is 1,613,366 active cases and 15,382 cases in the US are considered serious or critical. Which means 0.95% of cases in the United States are considered serious and 99.05% of cases are considered mild.

I don't get my information from the news though, all media stations lie and push a political agenda. Facts don't care about your feelings or political beliefs and neither do I. You are free to believe what you want to believe all I ask is do your own research first.

Now back to Mike Trout, honestly I hope he sits out. If he is concerned for the safety of himself or his family he should do whats best he believes for them.
Sure, but you can also mitigate how much you spread by wearing a mask. It isn't all or nothing. A mask isn't a fail safe, but it will keep you from breathing on everything in sight. This is especially a concern now that there's emerging evidence that it can linger in the air.

I know a pro-mask stance is unpopular on this forum, so flame away. I'm just saying some harm reduction is better than no harm reduction.

Thank you for your service. Government is instituted for the common good. Public health is just that. If the facts are there to say masks are more help then not then I'm 100% for mandatory masks with fines for those who don't want to wear them. The money can go to hospitals. That's my last comment on the subject in this thread.

Off season has proven the last couple or so years to not necessarily be the best time to buy. Best time I guess would be when someone else is hot and Trout isn't. So this year it might be when he takes time off for his son's birth. Assuming he wasn't on fire to start the season. Depending on what reason you want the card. I've been advocate of every card collector having at least one Trout US175. If you are getting one to resell later. Buy as a high of a grade as you can. If you want one to just have one, PSA 7s and below are still fairly decent price wise.

My wife works for one of the largest infectious disease hospitals studying the COVID-19 virus along with the NIH. She had a conference call today, and on that call, they confirmed that for every positive test, they are adding 16 positive cases, even though those 16 have not been tested. They claim that based on one study, it showed that 16 is the average number of people that one person comes in contact with in a week's time.

Thank you! I was looking to get a PSA9 I’ve been wanting one for my collection as well as knowing i can resell it later if I ever have the need to.

I’ve been nervous to jump on one since 2018 and I’m kicking myself now that they are double the price since then.

I had no plans to ever ask this as I really think the details of a player's personal life aren't really necessary for fans to know. But Mike Trout is, well Mike Trout, and he has a gi-normous decision hanging over him, right now.

My question is - what is his wife's due date, approximately?

His wife is currently 36 weeks into the pregnancy...so 4 more weeks? Week 40 would be August 1st.... he may as well sit out the first week, take baby leave and then come back and play after all is good with baby and wife

Thank you. Sounds like a good option, and a good possibility. Quite a load on his shoulders right now.

Just sniped a 2011 Sterling BGS 10 in the first few minutes of it being posted on eBay... super excited. First one I’ve seen posted on eBay since 2018 (aside from the BIN advertised for 8k)

I'd call that a steal at $3,000! Well done!

So you sniped it and then worked out a deal with the seller after snipping it?

Always nice to snag a fresh listing early for a card you want. (I missed a 1/1 two days ago and it still stings .) But that’s not what people mean by sniping, it’s just buying. (Sniping is hiding your interest and getting a last second bid in on an auction listing.)

I committed to buying at full price (was listed or best offer), and then offered a better deal outside of eBay. I was ready to pay the full listing but the deal benefited us both

Definitely a first....I wish I could hit the BIN and the seller reaches out telling me he'd sell to me for lower than the BIN I just hit
