Any HR decrease can be tied to the surgery now. Wish him the best and hope he comes back with a huge chip on his shoulder Pun intended.

He could definitely "inject" some life into the team next year.

We'll be in for no news/no positive news for the next 6-9 months, but today will be the all time low? Respectfully, that just doesn't pass the sniff test.

His cards and comps will be leaking value throughout that timeframe. Pop is so high on stuff like his base chrome #203 PSA 10, wouldn't surprise me if folks were picking those up at $25-30 bucks soon.

Hid Dad must be embarrassed and ashamed. Imagine people believing he's better off not going home.

PSA 10 Complete Set Gold Refractor sold for $507 yesterday at auction. An all-time low sale, and a drop from the peak of $3800 in February.

What kind of man would need to be placed on house arrest by their Major League Baseball club for damage control?

Embarrassing.

Tatis even considered appealing to save face but experts told him he would lose the appeal. In this case, positive is positive.

People buying his stuff right now must hate money.

You'd think $340M would buy you a decent PR person. His answer to this should've been something generic and contrite like "I understand. I'll work hard to win back the trust of the fans and my teammates." At least he didn't say something out of touch like "I can't control what other people think" which is what most of us probably would've expected.

On a *positive* note , hopefully this suspension is the reality check he needs to grow up. Glad he's getting the surgery and sticking around San Diego with his teammates. Gotta build back what trust you can, get back to playing and move forward.

fixing his shoulder alone could end up making this a net positive for his career totals, whatever that's worth.

Steroid use compromises your immune system.

People who have compromised immune systems have a significantly higher risk of getting a ringworm infection.

Therefore, the chances that he was using steroids before his infection are significantly higher.

He cheated, sorry folks.

I find the BO morality police very interesting. Is some cheating acceptable in baseball? Is some cheating acceptable by BO members that collect cards?

If his insane story of accidental exposure is true is he still a cheater? According to the BO morality police yes (positive test is a positive test...aka cheating). Is it cheating if unintentional? Is it cheating if he never played a game with the steroid in his system?

Will I still collect Tatis is he story is verified...not sure yet, but probably. Will I collect his cards if he intentionally cheated...not sure about this one. Food for thought. Is it ok to collect cards of a cheater (with no regards to price paid)? Would it be ok to collect cards of an athlete that committed murder?

There are so many young, exciting and talented players to collect in the league and many more surfacing with every draft.

Why stick to a player with SO MUCH BAGGAGE?

You are correct...it is very rare for white males to get ring worm of the scalp. Ring worm is normally transmitted from close contact to a person that is infected. But ring worm is much more common in people of skin of color and can be transmitted from using unclean instruments from a hair cut (doesn't mean it actually did). Also, doesn't mean he actually had ring worm (fungal infection). He could have had a rash from another cause and thought it was ring worm. We just don't know and probably never will.

Using anabolic steroids does not make you immunosurpresed/immunocompromised per say. Using corticosteroids does and makes it more likely you can get any type of infection including fungal infections.

The bottom line is neither you or me have enough evidence to be definitively correct that he intentionally took anabolic steroids to either heal faster or boost his performance on the field.

I heard he's toast. Toast might put up a 40/40 season some day and then we'll see what happens to his card values.

This story isn't over. He isn't done playing baseball.

It's apparent a handful of people on Blowout have personal vendettas against him and his card values.

You are correct. No one will ever know the truth but Tatis.

But his name and play have been tainted for life because of this situation.

And he should be blaming no one but himself.

So why continue collecting him versus, say, acuna, Soto, vladdy, Jrod, Wander, Robert, etc?

All you have to do is search their usernames in this thread and you’ll see they’ve been hating on him for over 4 years
